Probably shouldn't be selling this anymore

Clayxels doesnt work on unity 2022 onwards. I've made something of an effort to get it working in unity 6 URP and i'm not miles off, but realistically this isnt something I can output in a game. To be fair, they're somewhat clear on the store page that it doesnt work on current unity/URP versions, but still they're charging 50 odd quid for this, which is pretty extortionate for something that wont work for the majority of people who are buying the asset for their projects today.
Support is over for clayxels while they work on their own game engine, which is fair enough, but I would heavily dissuade anyone from buying this asset, and I dont think they should be selling it.

Fun asset, not viable for stable game builds.

This asset is really promising, but in the end falls short. On the surface, you have an extremely easy to work with 3d modeling software right within Unity. But spend more than a couple of hours with it and you will find yourself with an extremely buggy mess of an add-on that causes a whole slew of errors on ANY version of Unity, in any circumstance. Models made with Clayxels, even ones that you froze into standalone meshes, will never keep their textures without the asset installed on the project. You can't export it to an external editor such as Blender, the textures will simply disappear. Errors abound make it nearly impossible to make a build of your game to export for external play anywhere outside of the editor. The inspector gets super laggy when using Clayxels, to the point that another even buggier 3d modeler inside Unity, such as Puppet3d, seems like a more viable option. It's very clear from seeing what is available, that Unity was not made to do 3d modeling or rigging. Anything that I have tried has been so buggy and messy and filled with errors. I don't have the patience to use Blender, so that is really disappointing. Just would be nice if there was a 3d modeling and rigging software that could be built into Unity that was user friendly, bug free, and ran smoothly. But I can see now that this is a pipe dream. And for the price tag of nearly $60 USD??? Don't waste your money. Just for the record, I used this for nearly 2 years and had a lot of fun with it. It just isn't viable for game design. It's great for artistic practice and prototyping, and if I could get a refund I probably wouldn't want one. It's great practice. Just don't buy it if you are looking for something to develop games with. And it gets a 1 star, because Unity is for developing games, not for playing with a lite 3d toy. That's exactly what this feels like. Like it was built for play and not for business.

Awesome and simple

After watching 2 video tutorials mentioned in the docs, I was able to easily wrap my head around the modeling process and it was just going smoothly. I use blender for sculpting and modeling, but this just gives me the artistic vibe I was always looking for! No, I am no pro in modeling, just a small solo dev, but I wish someone told me before that this exists, a must-have in my toolbox

I use Clayxels for a few months now and its fun to model with. Easy to learn, hard to master.
I stumbled across a bug, mentioned it offhanded on twitter and the dev fixed it super fast, can only recommend! Definitely one of my favourite Assets

I used it for the character faces/hairstyles for a mobile game.
EDIT: It no longer exports to obj (it used to). The meshes are too high-poly for runtime, and the retopo is not as good as Blender's options, so now it's basically useless. Unity's FBX Export will with anything high-poly. Try Womp 3D.

I would love to give it 5 stars, the tools is nice and the videos I saw on youtube looked like it was exacly want I needed. I wanted to create clay-style models for my game with some animation, but unity keeps crashing with clayxels and the performances are too slow for a mobile game (even with frozen meshes).

Refund issued.
Just for reference, crash is related to windows GPU timeout settings and not to clayxels (confirmed by other users with your nvidia GPU model using clayxels).

Amazing modeling tool

Clayxels is amazing for quickly creating unique models. It's incredibly easy to get started and theres quite a few creators teaching more advanced techniques for usage on YT.
With this tool I was able to prototype a character in my game within 30mins which would have taken well over a few hours if I used something like blender instead.

I hadn't truly modelled in years till I started using Clayxels

I'm not being over the top I promise, I used to model in Maya about 10 years ago, started working in a different industry and hadn't touched 3D modelling software till Blender this year. I found Blender difficult to use on it's own but this style of modelling with Clayxels completely flipped the script. It's easy to use and the amount of variety I can get adding and subtracting with simple primitives is limitless.
I can design anything I want in a matter of minutes, export it to blender and then add some fine details with the sculpt tool or whatever. It really upped my modelling game and the discord is extremely helpful and the author is very proactive in regards to ironing out and squashing bugs. I couldn't recommend the asset more highly.
