That is correct. The NPC Populator includes 6 humanoid models as samples. Many other models compatible with Unity humanoid animation should also work. Please send me an email at info@clockworks-games.com if you have specific questions.

It's really simple and easy to use, you can set up a bunch of NPCs in just one second, but~

Please update it and add some basic features
For example, when players block in front of these NPCs, they can stop their steps, avoid cars when crossing the road, and add some NPC idle actions.
Of course, the current price is already very cheap, and I shouldn't expect more, but precisely because I like the operation of this plugin, I hope it can be better, even if it will increase its price.
For now, it's very awkward. NPCs only have walking behavior. Although it looks great, they are still a bit short of being able to use it.
I gave it a score of 4 to urge the author to further improve it. If your requirement is only to make the NPC move, then I think it deserves full marks.

Thanks for these comments. It is true that the NPC Populator only supports walking / running / idle animations. I have been thinking about a more advanced version that has more complex behaviors. I will try to find some time to work on that!
One of the best assets I have ever paid. This asset not only provides an easy and lightweight method to create NPCs but also takes it above and beyond by providing a scene with example NPCS (over 10 different .fbx) and explaining the code/asset via instructions and video. You simply copy and paste from the Inspector (from the example to your current scene) the asset and it works like a charm!
I have already tried it in a NavMesh with over 100 NPCs and the game worked like a charm.
Lastly, the code is really well written and documented thus, it is easy to play around if you need to further change or understand a specific part.
Highly recommended, vfm asset, 100% worth the buy!

To answer your questions:
1. You can have any number of NPCs.
2. The NPCs use Unity NavMesh and should not collide with each other. The priority of individual NPCs can be adjusted if you are having a problem. A lower priority NavMesh agent will try to avoid a higher priority one.
3. Simple walking and running animation clips are used, so you are right that this will not look perfect on stairs.
Please feel free to post any additional questions or email info@clockworks-games.com.
After watching the tutorials, I was able to quickly setup the scene and now I have walking NPCs in the city.
Great work on the asset and the tutorials.

The NPC populator is a pretty neat tool, and definitely gets an area feeling lifelike very quickly.
The new Waypoint populator definitely pairs well with the asset, as it saves a huge amount of time.

Thank you for this review! I am happy that the NPC Populator worked out for you!
I was a little hesitant because there didn't appear to be any updates since version 1.0 but using it with Unity 2019.2.18f1 works fine. Took a little education but between the easy pdf instructions and the instructional video everything got figured out. It works really well and is very easy to use. I'm just setting the avatars up individually because I had a little trouble with the automated multiple set up. That is likely my fault though.
As with any great asset it leaves you wanting a little more and in my case it would be the ability to use more than one animation controller so you could have the NPCs using differing walk animations. I tried duplicating the universal controller but it seems that at runtime it just flips back to the original. That's my only desire, otherwise this is worth way more than 10 bucks in my opinion!

Thanks for your review, and I'm glad the NPC Populator work well for you. Version 2.0 -- which I will be submitting to the Asset Store once I check it over one more time -- does allow you to substitute your own animator controller.
