Dissonance Voice Chat is absolutely insane in the best way possible. The sound quality is crystal clear and way beyond anything I’ve used before — it instantly made my old voice system feel like total garbage by comparison.
It took me around 2 days to fully replace my old setup with Dissonance, and that’s with my game having a pretty complex voice system. Still, I managed to get everything working exactly how I wanted, and the integration felt clean and solid.
But the real MVPs here are the developers behind it. They’re some of the nicest devs you can meet: extremely helpful, quick to respond, and always ready to assist you with anything. They consistently go above and beyond to make sure you’re not just “using” the asset, but actually succeeding with it.
Totally recommended. Easy 5 stars from me.

The asset work great. But sadly it's not production ready as it is not optimized and does generate a lot of Garbage Collection (Mic recording) wich make our game stutter.
Maybe it's by design due to how the mic recording is captured. But sadly for us will have to go without it.

Dissonance does not generate any garbage anywhere in the audio pipeline - buffers are allocated up front and re-used for as long as possible. If you're seeing garbage generated please contact me with details (martin@placeholder-software.co.uk) and it will be fixed.
The only place I am aware of that garbage may be generated is in some of our network integration packages. Some of the third party network systems make it impossible to send packets of data without generating garbage.

The documentation is not out of date! As you can see from the log (https://github.com/Placeholder-Software/Dissonance/commits/master/) it has been updated multiple times in the last year. I'm not sure what gave that impression, if you found something incorrect in the documentation please contact me by email or Discord and I'll sort it out right away!
The videos are quite old now and the Unity UI has changed a lot in that time. But I just rewatched both videos to check and the fundamentals which are explained remain the same, as far as I can see there's no misinformation there.

There is an entire section in the documentation titled "Introductory Tutorials" which includes step by step tutorials on basic things you're likely to want. The subreddit receives roughly one post per month. Discord is slightly more active, usually people asking about how to do more advanced things not supported out of the box.

I respond within a day (except on weekends, or if I happen to be on holiday).

A global voice channel which supports an unlimited number of players requires adding just 2 components to the scene (broadcast trigger to send, receipt trigger to receive).
Creating a team chat channel is nearly as simple - another pair of components per team and a script of your own to tell Dissonance which team the local player is in.

Expert level knowledge is not required for all the standard things like global chat, team chat, proximity chat, 3D spatial audio etc.
> Finding and fixing a single bug can take days because you constantly have to build your game to test it
You can use the Unity multiplayer play mode package (https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.multiplayer.playmode@0.1/manual/index.html) to test multiplayer games without creating a single build.
> There are no example scenes!
There is an example scene included with every single one of the free network integration package we provide. This scene demonstrates global chat, proximity chat, positional audio and text chat.

Am using it with ObjectNet with just drag and drop i got Network Voice Chat 3d with proximity chat feature on my project out of the box no time wasted. This is a top notch quailty asset.
The sound quality is on another level, Discord level quality!.
