Realtime audio response over network is not immediate, but I think there are ways to improve it

This asset is def helpful to learn FMOD and have a functioning starting point, but the code quality is not impressive. If you have a serious project, you will likely roll your own classes since the code is not made with extensibility in mind (e.g. the primary FMOD objects do not have public accessors and core methods are hundreds of lines long, yikes).

- the code is fully extensible - literally *all* classes are purposefully architected in such way that they can be inherited from
- the asset's main point is to provide user friendly *Unity* interface, not FMOD interface
- if you want/need to interact with FMOD object/s directly, that is still available - so there was no need to wrap FMOD's provided C# wrapper into yet another user layer
- the user was offered a refund, but refused it as of now, so my guess is its perceived value is in reality non trivial for them

I had a massive tight deadline. Ripping my hair out trying to implement an audio solution to stream to multiple specific Audio Speaker Devices.
This Asset nails it and it's worth the price!!

After long search and countless experiments I found this asset that's description sounded too magical to be true. It is perfect for my project spatialization of sound and works well with all spatializing option I tried. Totally worth it.

Assets\AudioStream\Scripts\AudioStream\AudioStream.cs(42,56): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Option' does not exist in the namespace 'Unity.IL2CPP.CompilerServices'.

this is REVIEW section
for Il2CPP builds you need attributes definition from Unity install:

EDIT: due to recent changes in the asset the required file is now included in the package, so all required attributes should be included OOTB; HOWEVER: please be sure to read appropriate section in Docs since this comes from your local Unity install and it's possible future Editor versions might behave differently
EDIT2 (12 2025): The AssetStore policy changed meanwhile in such a way that code residing in (one of) Unity namespace(s) is not allowed to be submitted/part of assets (Il2CPP optimization attributes fall under this case) - this means I can't no longer include and distribute them in the package ( it would be refused ) and user need to copy the source files from their Unity Editor installation folder manually. - asset's asmdef has weak reference to an asmdef containing these - see docs for more. Thanks !

Unity's built in audio system has some rather large gaps and this plugin goes a long way to filling them. While it makes use of FMOD it doesn't require working entirely within that ecosystem and works well with the built in audioSource, audioListener and mixer components which is a major plus when adding it to an existing project.
The creator was responsive and helpful both before and after purchase. Thank you for the great work.

I desperately needed Unity to send different audio to different system outputs. This asset did the trick with zero hassle, and looking through all the other tools opens up a lot more ideas. Fantastic.

Working on an audio visualization project, this asset has been tremendously useful. The asset has great documentation behind it and the developer has been outstanding when it comes to questions/issues that arose along the way!
