I'm sure you're much more industrious to me. I'm lazy to a fault. Finding myself in that predicament I am wild about every PW product I've tried which is Gaia, Gena and now Pegasus. This is literally point and click creation of not only fly-throughs but also animation of characters along a path with our choice of animation. Their very thorough walk through tutorial is only 12 minutes long and covers all major features. Happy days,

I created Pegasus a long time ago now - well before cinema machine was released by Unity... to create flythroughs to show off my work.
Pegasus is still my goto for this!

Easy to use, powerful, great asset! Includes a 42 page PDF documentation and links to video tutorials, forum, and Discord. Not that you will need it, I watched one demo video and could use the asset on day one! Highly recommended.

We most likely wont be doing much more with it as it already does most of what we want it to do, and we dont want to be charging more for it.
I am using Pegasus extensively in my project. Although there is the Unity´s own Cinemachine system, I am not going that direction due to easy workflow and smooth results with Pegasus!

Significant Issues and A Lack Of Support

Pegasus is a good idea and, when it works, a great asset. I find great utility and ease of use in creating paths for game objects and cameras alike. Unfortunately, this program frequently errors out with an index out-of-bounds error that freezes the entire application. What's worse is that this error seems to occur randomly - I can press play, have the scene work as expected, quit, start it up again without changes, and the error will occur. I cannot find any rhyme or reason for this error occurring. I'm using Pegasus for a short film, so I can live with the uncertainty since I only need it to work once, but I believe this error makes Pegasus unusable for games because of the risk of catastrophic failure.
The support links on Unity are broken. Clicking "Pegasus Forum" leads to a 404 error, and the "Lodge A Pegasus Support Ticket" is similarly broken. I have found the actual links to request support on the asset page, but it is very frustrating and quite unprofessional to go to seek help and receive broken links.
Procedural Worlds has many professional, robust, well-supported assets, and this just makes the case of Pegasus confusing. Perhaps this worked better on older versions of Unity. I rate this two stars because I do feel that Pegasus helped me save a bit of time making my film, but for a larger project or a game, I'll probably look for alternatives.

Thanks for the review, and we are sorry to hear you had issues with Pegaus.
As mentioned in the reply on the Canopy support forums, we had no luck in reproducing the error that you reported. It is unclear how that error is being created, as no matter how we operate Pegasus we do not get the same message to appear.
We have reviewed the outdated links in both the manual document and in the application and corrected them so it is easier to find the support forums and all relevant online information.

There is more than one way to skin a cat, and the fact that Unity also has a system that does traversal of cameras along a spline does not make Pegasus obsolete. Pegasus has not been updated in some time now, because it keeps on working.
Cinemachine can do a lot more than Pegasus in some ways, but it's also substantially more complex to use, and the last time I looked, it lacked the ability to navigate characters along a path and do local obstacle avoidance.
We make demo video's all the time, and I still far prefer to use Pegasus over Cinemachine. It's easier and faster for me.

Not compatible, broken support

Pegasus is not working in Unity 2021. Support and tutorial links are broken, as they've moved everything to their new Canopy platform - and from there I cannot register for an account after trying twice and contacting their support. Few tutorials remain accessible and lack full lifecycle of how to use Pegasus after the initial creation between playback and reuse of POI motion captures. Last two promo videos here at Unity Asset Store are private YouTube videos, and inaccessible to watch.

Hi, thanks for the review. It contains some points that I would like to address:
- Pegasus is working fine in Unity 2021. We use it ourselves to record flythroughs for our own promo videos, e.g. for the "Micro Biomes: Deep Desert" asset we released yesterday.
- You were able to register for Canopy, however you were not able to confirm your email address. I can see in the backend that the email was sent, and that there was no error in the log. Since that email was sent a multitude of users were able to confirm their email in the system without issues.
- You did not mention that you reached out on discord and were able to contact an employee of ours this way.
- Pegasus comes with a 39 page manual document which explicitly explains how to use Pegasus after the initial creation of a path and how you reuse the POI motion captures. You can either keep recording on your current capture, or start a new one, depending on the settings on the Pegaus capture object. Please see page 10 in the manual.
- Thanks for the feedback on the videos - we did not recognize this yet as we could still see those videos with our accounts being linked to the PW youtube account.
