-if your walker is falling through the ground, go look for the AnimRoot gameobject and it should have a script called Moveen Surface Detector 2. Assign the layer for example "Ground" and use the same layer for your Ground gameobject. Now it should not fall through the ground anymore.

I got this asset in a bundle and decided to quickly add a new unit type in my game: a tarantula robot boss. Well, 3 days later my conclusion is that I should spend my time finishing the game first, and maybe waste it again later on this asset. The gait engine seems all good (I'm not an expert), it is very modular and adapts to most designs. The plugin really lacks class documentation, and most class code contains no comment or description. It is quite easy to make something move following the videos. However the more advanced features are not straightforward... There are (at least) two ways to setup your robot hierarchy, and when you add a skeleton via the inspector it is not the same way as the examples in the scenes so that is quite confusing. Especially when you try to add the ragdoll components which seems to only work with one of the approaches. After a lot of random guesses that ragdoll feature either did not work as expected or even made the robot fly out of the map when integrated with the existing systems. In conclusion: - it can be a quick win if you only need features already implemented in the demos scenes. - it is probably very good and customizable if what it brings is a major pillar of your gameplay and you have the time to invest in understanding the underlying concepts. - if like me you only want to add diversity to enemies, think twice.

Amazing resource for lifelike creatures

All of the different types of creatures that can be created with this tool have an amazing lifelike charm to them that can not be easily replicated. It is also easy and fast to implement. Kudos to the creator.

I have been waiting for something like this, but it can use more tutorials, anyway, If you have ideas for procedural animation this is a top notch asset, with lots of examples and tutorials (but more is better) hope to see how it develops

This either doesn't work or need better tutorials that are updated. No prefabs to understand how it works. Falling through floor as soon as I change anything. Floor detection doesn't seem to work.

Super usefull when doing mech with legs! Works perfectly despite its age. A suggestion for Yuri is to update the asset. I find no problems with it, but some people get aggressive/nervous with slow update cycles. Maybe change some help files or legal text, just to make them feel safe with the purchase.

Some are disappointed in this and at first, I felt the same way. However, upon spending months with the asset, I use it all the time. This isn't described well in my opinion. Think of it less as a way to animate mechs easily, and more so any rigid body in the joint armature. You know how floppy physics has taken over? Procedural animation is in everything, some games go famous from it's a distinct style. YouTuber Dani certainly has. Any rigid body hinge joints... Guys, this means robotic arms, and animations. You can cleverly setup literally anything to work with hinge joints, even doors. Be creative, and you can make some insanely complex animations all controlled by key points with IK. It's amazing. I also use it on organic humanoid characters. I have been working on a kind of Oblivion parody, and my god this thing is amazing. It breaks the meshes in the perfect way. It's like professionally bad (unintended use) but smooth af. Arms don't move, so I create separate controllers for arms, and visually you can't tell what's going on. You ca neven create invisible armatures to links others together, so pulling on one thing pulls another. Like a puppet. I don't think I'm using this effectively lol but it is epic and for anyone on a budget or who has whacky 3D ideas, you kind of need it. It's like iTween for hinge joints. Easy, and can do nearly anything you think it can.

Still a great asset

It's a physics-based procedural mech animation system, not a complete mech game template or combat system. You can change weapon recoil amount to prevent firing a weapon affecting your mech's movement/rotation, or don't use the physics-based recoil effect at all, use an animation, your own code, etc. If you just use the basic examples in your own game it won't work well because the settings in the weapon examples are set too high, to exaggerate the recoil effects. Hasn't been updated because the developer implemented all the features he planned to a while back. If you still expect more features to be added, do the math. If 100 people buy the asset, he gets $5000. For a programmer in the US, this is less than a month's pay. Now think how long it would take you to program this. Would it be less than a month? Would it have as few errors (none in my experience)? That's my metric for rating assets, and by my metric this asset is amazing value.

Broken in Unity 2019 and hasn't been updated since early 2018.

Years of abandonment is such a shame when the asset shows such promise! You can still make use of this asset, mind you, but you won't have it easy. Only 2 of the example scenes seem to work correctly. I've tried this in Unity 5 and it works just fine, though, so chances are it's just in need of some updates to make it perform better in newer versions of Unity. Overall, the example scenes aren't much to look at, but there is a nice IK animation system here for those looking for it, and one of the examples resembles a mech game but there isn't any gameplay in the example, and a lot of work would have to be done to add AI, fix the camera, and so on. A good start, but I expected a lot more to be added in 2 years.

Tested all scenes against 2020.1.0b12 and 2019.4.1f1. Loaded and started well. They contain no elaborate dependencies on versions' specifics. Don't expect it to broke any time soon. Could you e-mail me with your problem description?
