The app is OK. Programming guide is a different story: A nice piece of creative writing, that won't teach you much.

I remember buying this when I starting using Unity, thinking "Ah, it's only Tic-Tac-Toe" that'll be a fairly easy thing to do, and then being completely overwhelmed by it. I grasped the basics but promptly moved on and carried on learning what I needed to learn elsewhere. I noticed that there had been an update a few days ago and had a quick look out of curiosity, thinking that I'd learnt a lot in the meantime and I'd find it easy to follow now. Thankfully, the rewritten version is a vast improvement (especially thinking of how intimidating it was back then!) but still manages to cram more useful information in than any tutorial for a basic game has any right to, frankly. The programming primer book is especially useful (and very interesting) for people that feel a bit lost with any of the programming concepts used and the book does a great job of explaining the logic behind the code. If you're hoping for a guide to introduce you to programming then you might feel a little overwhelmed at times, but it's an excellent gauge for just how much you've learnt if you need to get some of the basics elsewhere. Highly recommended!

The author is very good at keeping everything updated. The information is easy to read and follow. Obviously it's not for complete beginners to the unity platform, you can find explanations of how the editor works on the unity site itself. It is however very good for people starting out learning programming and interested in getting a braoder knowledge of how that side of things all works. Combined with the step by step tutorial I would reccomend it for anyone who learns well from that kind of teaching.

Unless you have a good general knowledge of unity, this tutorial will be very hard to follow. Author doesn't not explain any basics. This tutorial is good for someone with a moderate to advanced knowledge of unity and has a quite good understanding of programming in unity... or it might be useful for someone who just wants to get his hands on the scripts but already knows how to program in C#. but if you are a total beginner you are better off with Stealth or any other step by step tutorial in other words THIS IS NOT FOR BEGINERS as people below are advertising it
