GETTING ERROR and Project not opening

I am getting an error while opening the editor saying -
An Error Occure while resolving packages and I am asked to retry . But on retry its same.
I tried multiple versions older as well as unity 6.

I have studied this engine thoroughly and it seems well structured and reliable. Unfortunately the support is almost absent, there is a Discord community that tries to do things and helps each other but where many messages are skipped by the developers, I myself have helped several people to fix problems. The documentation is lacking in certain aspects but it is filled by the fact that things are well organized. Especially on 2d there is a player but it is not complete and not very developed. Therefore I recommend this engine only to expert people who know how to really get their hands dirty and are ready to do anything to make a fighting game. The price seems proportionate to the product, too bad about the support.

You are correct about the documentation though. I'm still working on updating everything to the new version.
About 2D, make sure you watch our video tutorials and documentation (updated). I've seen your post about it and I believe you haven't done enough study to know how it works.
Best asset ever! I can see why so many Steam games use this. At first it was a daunting project because the tutorials are a bit difficult to follow for me so I ended up finding out that you have to take your time and create every parameter file by hand, no copy paste. That was my problem. I forgot the programming term but you need to create every asset script with the tool and not in the prefab inspector window or you get unexpected behaviors and hard to track errors. So create 1 character and iron it out. Once you understand the workflow just write down the parameters to ensure balanced fighting amongst characters. After your 3rd one you will remember the values that work and you'll hammer through the characters. Save in the editor tool often or you'll lose your hard work. Make a bunch of move sets then storw them in a giant moves folder, add as needed. 32 including 2 supers worked for me but you can add more. I like fast paced fighters for tournaments so this is an amazing setup. I have an unfinished demo here so you can see my progress with it. I'd like to say that this is the perfect template for making a fighting game, I really would, but that would mean lying. This template is good to some extent, but it's far from deserving the name "Universal Fighting Engine". First of all it's missing certain features entirely, such as puppet characters. Second of all its netcode has one fatal flaw which the developer has yet to fix. And last, but certainly not least, it is extremely unfriendly to 2d sprites, which it claims to support. I would recommend waiting for a sale like I did, but that is saddening to have to say...

New version is now available: 2.6.0. Should have all network issues solved. As for the 2D sprites I made a new tutorial that should make things easier:

While this asset does what it says it does and delivers a complete fighting engine, it has become a bit long in the tooth with updates and forum support is abysmal. The documentation has not been updated at the same pace as the engine code itself, so you'll usually be looking at outdated and inaccurate information, which make you do most of the troubleshooting and debugging all on your own. If the documentation and UFE code sections were updated on their website, I'd rate this asset much higher.

I apologize for some of the documentation. I do admit there are some areas that needs update (specially with 3d gameplay), but the code is fairly well documented and videos tutorials should help you get through most common questions. I'll make sure to run a full documentation update on the next major release.
And as far as forum support, I make sure everyone (given common sense) receive proper replies.

The asset as a whole is amazing. There are so many features already inside this engine. That being said.... My only gripe so far is documentation/tutorials. For as much as this costs, you can find better help with free assets. At the very least, you should walk the user from purchase to first setup of scene, to adding a character, to creating a move (that explains the difference between using animation maps and not) to hitting play. Tutorials that are available cover about 1/10th the potential this engine provides. They say you can click the ? on each section but they haven't set anything up for some of them and the ones that are there, do not tell you everything you need to know or are missing sections because they were setup and forgot about. As a developer myself, i would seriously sit down and take the time to document your asset fully as word of mouth travels faster than sitting on the asset store waiting to be purchased. Should this be fixed, I would change this to 5 stars. Until then, I will keep banging my head against the wall wondering why things arent lining up correctly (animation map issue). Also, a tutorial on 3d stages would be nice, ya'know the other half of the engine.... :)

They do not have a PDF to learn this engine, the videos tutorials they do have our outdated. Instead they just provide you with a link to their site that has information but is missing a lot of basics as they skip pass it. I just wanted to place my character on a plane to test the engine, but I don't know how to attach their camera script since it isn't shown. They just don't provide you with enough material to learn the engine, to be honest they are lazy with their video updates I mean the tutorials our spread apart some by years & since the UI has been updated you can't clearly following their videos.
Edited; the biggest issue I had was getting the humaniod character model to work, luckily I had some help from the forum by a user but I shouldn't have had to practically beg for help the asset should have included a detailed PDF that covers everything I needed to learn in detail, over 5 plus years that should have been a no brainier, on the asset developers. I understand that video updates take far more time then have the PDF at least, off that is complete not just internet or nothing since things happen. I will add a I will add a higher rating when I see the PDF is in full and not me needing to beg on the forum.

We do have a PDF file. Its inside the UFE folder.
Over the course of 5 years new features were added, but videos can still be followed. That said, new videos are coming.

If you build a proper game that is fun $300 isn't a steep budget cut you can make that back easy. Can it be cheaper because of lack of support... yes! That being said it will get you from point A to B since your here and not coding it yourself or hiring a team. I bought it and I'm not mad and I bought this back in 2014 they update it, support it(poorly), and have a forum with documentation. With UFE I was able to build my game One True Coin which is on the google play store now. Its just a demo and it needs improvement but I made it using this by myself so thank you Mind Studios. I would give it 5 stars but it would have to be priced at $100 and I wouldn't care about support it would be 100% worth it. But like I said in the beginning build a good game and its worth every penny.
