There are some things to improve, great support

I like: 1.Place an object is working. 2. Fast and amazing email support. There are some things I dont like: 1. Update() is going from line 101 to 374. It is difficult to find what you need. 2. Controlling in game is complicate without a reason. If you place an object and want to cancel this you have to push the delete button. I changed it to the right mouse button (like it is in most games). Rotating an object with the right mouse button I dont like. Changed it to the r key. 3. Why i must press space after I clicked an object in the UI? After space I can place the object. Not user friendly. 3. Camera controller and movement controller are not working well. 4. Code is on some part not clear for other user. f.e. fp is first person camera. If I need a quick&dirty solution this is ok but not in an asset I can buy. 5. The manual is not complete. Where is the part for move or delete an object? This function is in the code. Sorry guys but there is much to do. This could be a 5 star assets but not now! Hope you will invest some time in it.

Needs Upgrade

This asset REALLY needs to updated to the new input system. Since there is NO documentation of the code it needs to use the new input system.

Hi, thank you for reviewing. I wasn't sure whether to update this asset to the new input system yet, since many people seem to be using the previous one still. I will probably upgrade to the new input system with the next update, and if possible support both input systems. Have you found the pdf documentation? Hi , in package mabager i can import only 1.2 Version ( your last is 1.3 )

Hi, if you're getting Package manager errors, please try ''Help -> Reset packages to Defaults". Importing v1.3 should work fine, maybe you'll need to update the asset via the store window first. Please contact me via codeerstudio@gmail.com and I'm happy to help.

Edit: I originally based my review on the way the creator responded to my question, quote: "Can I use custom models in this asset?" To which he responded in an email, quote: "uBuild does support custom models" but after leaving this review he said if you export blender models in fbx format it should work fine. My negative review was based on me jumping to conclusions. Sorry Codeer! I take my initial statement back.

Hi there, the default models included with uBuild were made in Blender so I don't see how it lacks support for Blender models. Please export to .fbx files and import into your Unity project. Then follow the documentation to setup your custom pieces.

very good asset, but the mobile mode is not so good, because the finger will block the view in the real mobile view. and hard to edit in the real phone now. could you upgrade the mobile mode in the real phone?make it more easy to place , edit ,rotate ,move in the real phone. Thanks Very Much!!!

Great Asset but some suggestions

It would be nice to have a ability to drag them on the scene instead of selecting and hitting a button. Also add a feature that would allow you to place the same item again and again if needed. Make it so you don't have to use a character. Maybe and ability to select in the menu categories(Flooring, Walls, etc) Would like to see these updates

The option to drag and drop pieces into the scene is already available in the mobile controls. Edit: Thanks for updating your review. I will look into your suggestions. Hi, please explain further. The kit has everything described in the store description and even comes with editors and comprehensive documentation to easily setup your own pieces & buildings. I do not see how the asset is unfinished. Please send me an email via codeerstudio@gmail.com.

Demo works well

Demo works well but that is it. If you need something to start with and go from there, then this asset would be a good place to start. The price is fare for what it is. However, if you have an existing project that you want to add this type of functionality too, this asset is a bad choice. It requires significant modification and rewrite to be used with any existing project. There is also significant and unnecessary use of Camera.main, GameObject.Find as well as other inefficient, redundant and resource hungry methods. Scripts don't have any default values for exposed variables and just general lazy code. The core part of building is good and works well. It's just buried inside secondary functionality that this asset should not be dealing with. The notion of "Single Responsibility" is nonexistent. Stuff like mobile input, camera and character movement, door interactions and ect should not be in the core. It's as customizable as a brick because of all the extra junk. I was trying to save some time but ended up wasting a bunch. My review may be fueled by my disappointment with myself for getting lazy.

Hi, Thank you for the feedback, I'm sorry to hear the asset doesn't fit your needs. You are right, the asset contains more than just the core building features, mostly because I want to provide users with the possibility to use doors, layers, mobile input, etc. You can very easily choose between mobile input and pc input as the asset provides a seperate scene for mobile input. Also, you can simply choose to not use any doors or windows by removing them from the list. Indeed, the kit might lack some default values in the scripts, but everything is setup correctly inside the scene itself so that shouldn't be an issue and it's definitely not lazy code.
