The one and only Train controller asset you need for unity

I have been using this asset since 2021 ,this is best for making spline based and physics based trains
Easy to use and no errors or bugs till now , it has all functionalities for making a train game and you can also create your own features.
Developer is also very supportive.

I really like this plugin, helps you create your own railroad system and you have plenty of ways to customize how the game will work due to the API methods.
The dev always helped me as soon as he had the time. This is not very often here on the unity asset store.
Also, I love that there is a very good integration with the terrain.

The asset seemed nice at the beginning, but importing it into an existing project just destroyed and changed basically everything... Would have rather not touched it :/ To annoying trouble shooting script compilation errors that emerged from importing this

Good Train Controller

I had some problems with physics based train but It was fixed.
The Spline Based Train Can Be Better.
I love the Rail Track and spline renderer system.
Overall this package is great

This 5 stars asset has everything someone might need to create a train simulator. Great tutorial videos by the developer. Support was super fast and helpful and documentation is strong. Looking forward for updates like traffic lights system and load/unloading trains in-game.

Here's a quality asset I didn't even realize I needed. Now that I have it I can't stop messing around... so perhaps not the most productive addition to my library ;p
Easy to setup, I mean REAL easy. The rail editor is basic but in a GOOD way. As so it's quick to implement and gets us running immediately.
Out of the box it works with VSP, which was something I mistakenly forgot to verify beforehand so YAY!
I did run into a couple noob-like snags which the developer was quick to resound and more-so helpful. Something all assets should strive to be!

Easy to use - just works and no drama.Trains are low polys with LODs which is great. My suggestion would be to bind some default Input keys out of the box to make it easier to test and control the train when not automatic. I would also add a camera system so that users could switch cameras - for instance having a camera on top of the locomotive and another one in the cab ( driver's compartment ) to feel like you are driving it would be awesome - I added these cameras myself which is easy but would be neat for people who might not know out of the box. Thanks for producing this amazing asset ! My son is loving this addition to our project - now I need to produce more wagons ;)

There is already a feature for manually controlling the train on v3.3.
Please take a look at the "DemoPlayerInput" demo scene.
For more information about this feature, please take a look on section 4.2 (Player Input) of the user manual.

Omg, nothing could be more fun then this asset. What an amazing add on, seriously. It all started with a bow and arrow, an old 1860 style train and a vision. I couldn't believe it when I saw there was a train system that I could use. I picked up the asset and within a day of grabbing it, had a semi working train in my map. I cussed and struggled with the track, couldn't get the train working at all and was about to give up and just use the included train and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning version 3.3 had been released and I loaded it with anticipation. In 1/4 of the time I had spent the day before struggling with the previous version, I had a new track based on 3.3 and a full fledged train with my own models. Because of this asset alone, the vision I had with the bow and arrow will come true. I simply love being able to jump on the train and watch the landscape go by, it's amazing. Thank you for such a great asset and the hard work you have put into it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you like model trainsets and want to make your own, this is an easy 5 star asset. it's a physics
based solution, that works, and is solid. the documentation is good. and there are several helpful videos to get you rolling.
if you hit any pitfalls, the developer is friendly, and there to guide you through them. when i hit a snag with short wagons,
the "support service" was beyond exemplary.
using the creation wizards in this asset, i was able to bring my entire collection of railway models into Unity, and get them
all moving. easily. this is a real dream come true for a nostalgia nerd like myself. if (like me) your finger is hovering over the
"purchase now" button, reflect on the fact that a single piece of real world track would set you back 20eurobucks. multiply
that by several hundred (or more). throw in some loco's, some wagons, some rolling stock, and you are into the 1000's.
system requirements: my laptop is a chinese toaster with inbuilt gfx. this asset works and runs fine, without lag/stuttering.
tl;dr: thumbs up

In the current version (v3.2), it is possible to use the Unity default prefab editing workflow to replace the wagon model and customize the number of wheels.
In the upcoming v3.3, you will be able to create a customized wagon profile based on your needs, and use it to create customized wagons on the new custom wagon creator window.
v3.3 should hit the store in a couple of days.
I intend to release a Steam locomotive addon in the future. They are very stilish, I'm sure it will be a great addition to the Train Controller family, once it is released.
