Survival Template PRO is one of the most well-structured and thoughtfully designed assets I’ve used in Unity.
The framework is highly modular, cleanly architected, and clearly built with scalability in mind. Core systems like player movement, inventory, harvesting, world/time management, and UI are separated logically and communicate through well-defined interfaces and events. This makes it easy to understand, extend, and integrate into larger projects.
What really stands out is that the asset does not feel like a rigid “black box.” You can use it as a full foundation for a survival game or selectively integrate individual systems without fighting against the framework. The code quality is high, naming is consistent, and the overall structure feels professional.
Regarding some reviews mentioning issues with demo scenes or render pipeline conversions (Built-in → URP/HDRP): in my opinion, this should not be overemphasized. This asset is not meant to be a finished, plug-and-play game with polished demo scenes. Its focus is clearly on providing a robust gameplay framework, not on showcasing final visuals or out-of-the-box scenes for every render pipeline.
In my case, the standard scene worked without any shader conversion, and even if a pink material appears after switching render pipelines, that is a normal Unity workflow issue and easy to fix for anyone with basic Unity experience. Expecting a complex framework like this to handle every pipeline edge case automatically misses the point of what the asset is designed for.
Additionally, the framework integrates very well with MapMagic 2 for procedural worlds and Unity Netcode for GameObjects for multiplayer setups. Its clear separation between gameplay logic, world systems, and player control makes it especially suitable for server-authoritative multiplayer architectures and large, dynamically generated environments.
If you are serious about building a survival game—or want a strong, realistic starting point instead of reinventing everything—this asset is absolutely worth it.
Highly recommended.

Don't buy this.

nunogarciaon version 1.5.3
The project is completely dead and ZERO support from the dev.
The documentation on the package is outdated, their playlist with tutorials on youtube don't exists anymore, and on their discord only the "verified" rule can see proper documentation and get some files.
I bought this yesterday and I'm still waiting to get these rule! 24h after buying this and cannot use the demos bc of the errors!
The "wizard" to setup this package is completely useless. The demos to work need some setup but since the documentation is outdated is impossible to make it work (For example, items for the inventory, equipping the scope on the weapon, after dropping the cloths we got an error, the building system crash the game, and so on).

Testing on 6.3 2025

soft_soundon version 1.5.3
So there is a setup, it slightly works. I still manually had to go to rendering > Render pipeline converter
The next thing I had to do was install the latest post processing package to get rid of a lot of error messages but it will play after that. Start with the main menu scene too. I've only tested with URP so idk other pipelines.
It's a cool idea and I hope they continue to flesh it out further. I'm still playing around with it, but I hope I can use this as an example I can mod into some thing else.

An Overcomplicated Asset That Causes More Problems Than It Solves
4 months ago
unity_17688F37900345AE5DDBon version 1.5.3
I do not recommend this asset for the following reasons:
When you install it and try to switch it to HDRP (as in my case), it’s both compatible and not compatible — because you’ll get a lot of Post Processing errors, which are a real headache. The explanation on their Discord group about how to fix it is hit or miss — even if you follow their steps, nothing really gets solved; you still end up with the same Post Processing errors.
Eventually, I managed to get past the HDRP conversion, and I wanted to add a feature to the current Building System to allow demolishing created objects — and that’s where the problems start. For example, one file is connected to 10 other files through different folders, so in short, it’s chaos… Finding references is not easy, even if you have experience. (P.S. I’ve seen assets that are much better organized.)
Once you integrate this asset into your project and open different scenes, all kinds of issues appear. For example, in the Forest scene, everything is dark because the Exposure is missing from the scene’s volume — a problem they could have easily fixed themselves, instead of you wasting 30 minutes figuring out what happened. In the Prototype scene, the lighting is super weird, with excessive fog coming from multiple volumes, not just the main one… And there are issues like: if you throw an axe on the ground, it falls through the map — and many others.
This asset promises pre-made scenes, but as far as I can tell, they don’t actually exist — they’re just there to make you think “Wow, they have an easy scene creator.”
In conclusion, if you feel like struggling with an asset that’s a tangled mess of nested folders, hidden DLLs, systems that seem to generate themselves only when you hit play, and poorly written documentation, then go ahead — enjoy. But from my point of view, having already worked on two games, it’s better to build a similar system yourself — it may be harder, but at least it’ll be well organized, without hidden stuff, and you’ll actually understand what’s going on.
Good luck coding :)

Sad to see a project like this abandoned. People in the Discord are attempting to make fixes that purchased the package.
DO NOT BUY!

add to this asset would be a mallet

Celery2502on version 1.5.3
I think the best feature to add to this asset would be a mallet, so players can break walls, move crates, place a sleeping bag, and so on. I hope you’ll be able to include this in the next update

STAPSTUDIOon previous version 1.4.0.1
增加武器操作指引有没有,我增加了十个武器和动画后一些按键失灵,有没有操作文档。
Is there any instruction manual for adding weapons? After adding ten weapons and animations, some buttons malfunctioned. Is there any operation document.

Hello,
Thank you for the review! The updated documentation, which includes a guide on creating new weapons, is currently in progress and should be available soon.
In the meantime, feel free to reach out via Discord or email (listed in the store description) if you need help. I'm happy to assist.
