If you want to build a scrolling shooter this can't be beat. Simple to use and very well built. I'm amazed at how easy to setup levels and player and enemies. All you need is imagination and you can build a great game with this tool.

Great asset for vertical scrollers!

I've had this asset for a while but have finally started to use it for a recent project. So far it's been quite easy to use even when combined with Ebal's other creations like the space ship and station creator packs.
If you want to create an auto scrolling shoot em up or bullet hell game quickly then this is the asset for you!

This one checks all the boxes. It is very well put together, everything makes sense, the coding is well notated and easy to follow. The starter kit and demos give a really great understanding of how everything works. The best part is the developer took an enormous amount of time to create YouTube tutorials that walk you through some of the more tricky aspects— it’s like watching bob Ross paint a beautiful picture, very easy to follow the walkthrough videos. You can clearly tell that he really is trying to help everyone learn how to create with this asset.
He is also very responsive and easy to reach out to. I can’t even begin to imagine how long all of this took to put together but it is very much appreciated. He also created a lot of 3d assets that go really well together with this kit, and they are also top notch. I purchased the space station creator and left a review on that one and plan on purchasing more of the assets in the near future. Highly recommend this developer and everything he is putting in the asset store.

You just made my day! Didn't see this one coming, especially the Bob Ross part :) I hope you managed to integrate SB with your project successfully. Your Pinball games such as "Slot Shots Pinball Ultimate Edition" are absolutely amazing and not everyone who embarks on game making is able to pull off a completely polished project. Truly glad you found these assets useful.

I hope the author can add more features inside this package. He's still missing a few things, like the smash, melee atack, when you press a button, the plane releases its ultimate weapon to attack the enemy, all classic aircraft games have this, I hope the authors add this feature. We can customize it.
See more classic Shmup airplane games and add some.
For example from like these：
GAME ：GUNNAC / Salamander / Aero Fighters / 彩京（PSIKYO）/ prehistoric isle etc.
There are many more features from these classic games that deserve to be included in this template!
It needs more features, and there are a lot of mechanics from classic airplane games that could be added to this. Hope the author can keep updating this template, people hope to think this is the best airplane template, it is good, but it needs to improve a lot. Hope to update more features to achieve the ultimate like the title to become the boss of this field.

Thank you for the review, much appreciated. I am actually working on a complete update that completely rewrites this version. No promises on the timeline and features list but as I get sooner to release I will post the details at Shmup Boss support thread. I am working on it everyday but it might take up to a year from the date of this reply.
On the surface, Shmup games appear deceptively simple. But once you get into the details. One realizes that there are a lot of features to take in for a comprehensive system. Each Shmup has its own unique features but I will try my best to include the most common ones while building the new system with a strong foundation to continue working on.
Whenever I start posting the features and my work in progress for the new version I will edit this review. Thx again for the positive and constructive feedback.
Edit on December 8th 2023: Version 2.1 was just released and I added a bomb feature (Ultimate weapon).
On a second note, I also released the separate pack: "Infinite Scrolling Background" which was one of the advanced modules I was working on for Shmup Boss and I will later make a tutorial on how to integrate it into this pack and add it to the tutorials playlist

It is an asset that contains all the elements to create a scrolling shooter. Moreover, it is easy to use and allows for very efficient development. The videos on how to use it are also very clear and detailed.
I love the way this asset creates enemy movement patterns. I was able to create complex movement patterns with ease.
Also, the developer support is very kind and really helpful.
I highly recommend this asset to all SHMUP lovers.
It is one of the assets that I wish would spread more widely.

If you are making a scrolling shooter, you need this asset!! The code is very well written, and the demos and documentation are super informative.
Not only can you make an entire game without writing a line of code, the package is easy to modify if you do want to jump in and code some of your own features. This asset has saved me countless hours of coding, and I learned a few things as well!
Very nice work, looking forward to any updates in the future!

This asset contains so much functionality, the documents and tutorials are very informative, and I quickly finished a little shooting game based on this template. Awesome!
If it could pass some parameters when triggering an agent event, I think it could be more flexible. Maybe I could add more skill for the player.

This package includes a heck of a lot of functionality and features and more than I initially realized.
I had a few issues and emailed the developer and he was very quick to respond and help me out as well. Can't recommend this package enough!

This asset does what it promises. Furthermore the video tutorials are good and easy to follow and the dev himself is very supportive. I'm very much a noob and I asked if there was a way to randomly alter the sound fx a bit. He responded very quickly with a solution.
EZ 5/5 for me, and I definitely recommend it as a base for most shoot em ups.
