Your Assets are the Best !

RotabGameson previous version 2.4.0
Hello ,, I bought This asset and the Candy Match 3 and both of them are great ..
My question actually is regarding the new one Match-2 Pro Kit ... My apologies if this is not the right place but it seems the contact form on your website is not working ..
I want to buy the new Match-2 Kit but I have a question when I tried to play the only web preview .. I noticed It lacks the end explosions and pops that usually happens in these types of games as it gives players satisfying experience .. Is that something already implemented or do you plan to add it later ??

Thank you very much for your review and your kind words, RotabGames! They are sincerely appreciated. :-)
The contact form seems to be working just fine on our end, so I would recommend you try again making sure there is nothing in your system/browser preventing you from submitting a form.
The game works perfectly for a mobile match game, and I have it working on webgl even easier game wise, the ads are mobile based though as a unity/google requirement. The code is put together well, so many nice things to learn from, like a working IAP and reward ads example, as well as other little things someone new to unity can learn from. Things like canvas design, managing sprites and seeing how they created their pop ups was a great thing for me to learn from.
I contacted support 2 times and they answered super fast, first time it was the middle of the night and David answered within an hour lol, I was like wow and he fully answered with how to reskin it and a couple other questions I had. It's worth the 200 dollars, I got it on a big sale for 60 so I feel like I am stealing from them lol, but if I had paid 200 I would still feel like I got more than my money's worth.

Thank you so much for your review and your kind words, Paul! They mean a lot to us. :-)
I love it,
LeanTween, Full Serializer library should be imported first before import main asset which is written in the documentation.

You won't regret buying this amazing asset!

HenryJoosteon previous version 1.4.0
This is an amazing asset. Really easy get started and design new levels. It's definitely worth the price. This is perfect for the game I'm building and it saved me A LOT of hours.
FYI, all the prefabs are broken on Unity 2019.3.0b5. You have to manually edit them and add the missing objects to every script. But switching to the LTS version (2018.4.11f1) fixed this issue.

Thank you for your review and your kind words, Henry! They are sincerely appreciated. :-)
Just to clarify: we do not support nor recommend using beta versions of Unity with our assets because they tend to contain bugs that are outside our control. Of course, we will make sure that by the time 2019.3.0 is released in the stable channel, our assets are completely compatible with it.

Does what it claims to do, documentation sub par

Riffmasteron previous version 1.3.3
2019-06-20
As of now, I give this asset / project a solid 3 stars, which renders it neither bad or outstanding.
I bought it during summer sale for a whopping 70% off, and taking this into account, it would have been 4 stars or maybe even 5, still not sure about it yet, but I think a review should take into account the full price, as there are not many sales in unity store these days and so this will be the price most people would have to pay. Would I have payed the full price, I have to say I would have been disappointed quite a bit.
The biggest problem for me is the documentation, as it is very rudimentary to non existant. This should really be improved, see more to this below.
It starts with the asset depending on two third party modules, which is clearly stated in the description, so this is more than ok. But while the documentation even shows how to create a project in unity, which I think everybody knows, it is not described how LeanTween and Full Serializer are added properly, so I had a bit of a hassle until I had it running.
Sadly, Full Serializer and a few scripts of the asset trigger a bunch of warnings when you edit scripts, so when I change a line of code, I get 126 warnings. But as it seems, you don't have to worry about it, as all works fine, it's just annoying. (I am using Unity 2018, tried 2019 first, but got many errors, although there seems to be a fix, but I just kept using 2018)
You get a full working project, which means after you have set up everything, you can build for Android (didn't test the other platforms, as I only will develop for Android) and play the 30 included levels happily through.
Graphics are very nice, although that is no selling point here, as everybody wants to do his unique game especially graphic-wise. I did not run into bugs yet, currently tested on two different phones and the unity player itself. So this is very good, but also should be expected, especially considering the price tag.
"Create your own levels without knowing how to program" is true, as long as you stick to what is shipped.
There is a nice level editor, where you can choose which blocks should be used and arrange them accordingly, setting up the blocks with specified and random ones, giving scores for the star rankings, setting up the level goals, which are limited to collect specified blocks or reach a specified score and then give a loss condition which might be a limit of moves or a timer.
But changing out the graphics and creating some levels means you will make the same game as everybody and his neighbour, having 6 blocks, 2 special blocks, 1 collectable, 1 blocker and 4 boosters with the same functionality in every game made with the kit.
As soon as you want to add something, you will have to go into the code. For changing functions of pop-ups etc. this is expectable and ok, but the simple task of adding a new block needs you to get into the code on various places, which are not too easy to find all and are scattered about the project. Adding the sprites and creating the prefab is easy enough, but implemeting the block into the game has some hidden traps which can easily lead to unpredictable behaviour even of the blocks that worked before. I confess, this was mainly because of my lack of knowledge about enumerations, but I really doubt that using enumerations here was the smartest way to handle blocks in the first way.
This would have been a whole lot easier if at least a small step by step tutorial would be provided that shows you what you have to change where when adding new blocks, or, even better and much preferable, as the project should be expandable without knowing how to program, an editor for blocks, blockers, boosters etc. where you put in your two sprites, eventually assign a behavour if it's a booster or blocker, and here we go...
So we are at the documentation again. There is a wiki page with an faq, but at the end of the day, there is nothing in there helping you to build your own game out of the asset. The documentation of the code is, well to say the least, not helpful. There are comments, but nothing really tells you how specific functions are used properly or what important lines of code do. It's up to you to figure it out.
For the price tag, I would expect at least a solid documentation helping you to expand the given framework or at least in the basic points, like adding new blocks, etc., or an according editor to make things easy.
A few more options gameplay-wise would have been also nice for the price you pay, as it really is a bit limited.
Unity Ads and IAP are integrated, although I didn't test them yet, which was one of the selling points for me, but taking into account the full price, there are competitive frameworks on the market place that offer more features, better documentation and more editors for less money. If you want to keep competitive, you should really consider a price drop.
I now played around with the kit a few weeks with the game taking up shape, managed to integrate a highscore per level and took the tedious task to add many blocks. I expanded and changed some of the funcionality of the pop ups, to give my game a unique twist and additional features.
The sound system is very limited, but I managed to get different music in different screens, and I plan to play different music on different conditions in the levels, let's see how this will work out. A more sophisticated handling of music would be very nice, again, at this price tag.
Next step will be working with special blocks, blockers, collectables and boosters, which will without a doubt need more coding than the simple blocks, but I think it will work out, so I can eventually earn a few cents for ads, but I don't expect to get my investment back in revenues, thinking about the many Match-Games on the mobile game market ;)
But you can learn a lot by working with that asset, which is a good thing. Just don't expect to make a unique game without a line of code, and if you are really not into coding at all, expect to contact support, which is good according to the reviews, more often than not. I managed to do without it yet and I hope I can keep it this way.
Of course I will edit my review if potentially updates make things easier or a good documentation will be published some day.

Thank you for your review! I am sorry you feel disappointed with the kit. It looks like you were expecting the asset to be not only a complete project, but also a universal game tool and a tutorial. It certainly is neither of them, and it is definitely not our intention to advertise it as such.
Generally speaking, we have found the best way to give our users a clear picture of what the asset includes is to publicly provide:
- The complete game in playable form.
- The complete documentation.
- A gameplay video together with many screenshots showcasing the kit's features.
All of which can be checked out before making the decision to purchase. It is our experience that, considering all of the above, an overwhelming majority of our users understands which features are included with the asset and which are not. Specifically, we have found there is usually a clear expectation that adding new gameplay logic to the kit will involve a knowledge of programming and a willingness to dive into the provided codebase. If the kit were not only a complete project, but also a universal game editor with the ability to visually define new gameplay elements, it would certainly be advertised as such (and the price would be notably higher, considering the additional degree of complexity). Creating a tutorial on how to develop any kind of new gameplay element is fundamentally impossible because each new gameplay element is different and will therefore require its own, independent logic; a course would be best suited for that purpose (and even that could only teach a fixed number of elements). Having said that, your review shows us we can still do better, particularly when it comes to communicating not only what the kit is but also what it is not, so we will definitely try and improve this area in the future! :-)
As a minor addendum regarding the project: it has been tested and works with both Unity 2018 and Unity 2019. The kit's code is error and warning free; the only, harmless warnings you should receive are from the Full Serializer library (a third-party dependency), which has not been officially updated to the latest versions of the engine yet.

I've been working with this kit for about a month now. It's well made and the creator provides great support. I'm very happy and I recommend this kit. You can use it to learn from or to make your own game out of.
