Wonderful asset + great support

Very fun feeling character controller to run around with, and intuitive to quickly being able to set up your first scene and start building. Everything works as advertised right out the box. The discord has a great little community, and the dev was quick to help with a small character/terrain interaction I was having. Very impressed!

Framework design same quality as top down engine, corgi etc

Raycast Inferno

Wonderful character controller with a half baked side-scroller workaround that still uses tons of 360 features in the side-scrolling features. However, the worst is the usage of tons of raycasts to manage the movement etc. I rewrote the whole system and was able to exchange all raycasts systems, for ledge hanging, ledge docking, etc with a self invented system, that doesn't need a single raycast, to prevent CPU overhead. Especially if you use the character controller for Multiplayer games. Also many methods are simply cheaply solved, as ledge climbing, ledge check/grab, wall jump and many other interaction moves. Some directional issues with wall jump/slide animation and character direction too. So, it's not THAT clean as it looks like. However, it is definitely a very good basis if you want to build your own stuff on top of it and know how to change parts of the code to adapt for more precision and kill the wrong done parts.

Hello! Thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm sorry you didn't like my raycast-based approach. It's nice to know that you found your way through it. The asset runs well across different devices, including mobile, and the CPU never seemed to be a bottleneck, but I do agree there's plenty of room for improvement. The best feeling platformer asset on the market.

I have never played/felt an asset that out of the box gives you smooth, great feeling movement. I honestly have been just having fun inside a prototype project moving around the environment I created. The quality is unmatched. This is a must have asset for every Unity Developer. If you want an asset that will actual make a game that feels good and is fun to play. This is what you are looking for.

This Asset is so good.

This asset delivers exactly what it sets out to be. It’s clean, focused, and not bloated with unnecessary complexity. A lot of kits tend to over-engineer things, but this developer strikes a really nice balance, clear structure, readable code, and nothing that feels excessive. The written documentation is solid and well-put-together. That said, this is more of a personal preference than a criticism: I’d love to see some additional video walkthroughs for common modifications or extensions. I come from years of digging through Stack Overflow, but these days I find visual explanations much faster to absorb. Given where we’re at today, video documentation has become a great complement to written docs, not a replacement. It helps users onboard faster, and it’s also a win for developers in terms of reach, visibility, and a second revenue source. Totally optional, of course, and it takes nothing away from the quality of the asset as it stands. Overall, excellent work, clean, intentional, and thoughtfully designed. It is my favorite asset I have purchased so far.

What an asset, also the new update basically adding a lot of what I wished for on the developers discord a good few weeks back has just been added! I continue to be really impressed with this assets, It's really exceeding my expectations so far. well done Dev! and thank you.

This is one of the most solid platformer i have seen. Great out of the box features. Super easy to understand and modify. What a steal! Could easy charge 3x!

Well structured and easy to understand code base

It's a capable and easy to modify asset. The code is well structured and easy to understand and tweak. Basically it's made to be simple and effective, which is the way I prefer to go about when coding. It's not easy to create a code like that, so thumbs up to the dev for putting in the effort and thought into this platformer kit. Very nice!
