Power of Corgi and some great artwork
caitlyn_unity130on previous version 7.5.1
Corgi's amazing, and I'm happy to have picked this up. The handcrafted assets are lovely, and creative inspiration to build upon in a way that is different from the standard style of 2D platformer artwork. Renau's support is amazing, too. Five stars would buy again.

Thanks a lot for your review, it's appreciated!
Context to relate my review: Bought this asset to use for hobby programming (prof. developer >20 years exp. but for enterprise application, no game industry exp.)
Corgi Engine:
It is fun, easy to use, good documentation and with the demos easy and fast successes are guaranteed. The code quality is good: when debugging it is easy to follow the flow. The support on discord outstanding: every question even when found in the docs is answered.
Handcrafted Art:
The graphics are also really nice but I have not used them extensively so far.

Thank you very much for your review!
I'm glad you found the asset easy to use and fun!
I saw Corgi Engine a few years back, and it seemed to be a good foundation for building on. My brother actually purchased the asset back then but we never made a game with it. Fast forward to today and we're working on a platformer game and he went browsing through the asset store to find an awesome platformer engine.. which he already owned!
Wall jumping, double jump, triple jump, guns, dashing, tight platforming, a rooms system, level selection, menus, character animations, and so much more are already built in and will save you hundreds of hours of time writing code or researching how to implement each feature. There are a few negative reviews on here, but from reading them, it sounds like those others are more interested in tinkering than releasing a game. After 15 years of professional experience writing code and working on dozens of unreleased games in my spare time, I just want to release a polished game that feels good, and this asset is what will enable you to do that.
Browsing the store today, I saw that there was an asset pack that included many pre-built levels that we intended on including in our game and I know if this company has included other assets, then they are worth it, so I decided to make the full price $200 purchase for the whole kit.
The developer of the engine has done an amazing job updating the engine and documentation over the years, and I'm looking forward to when we release our game. Thanks for all of the hard work on Corgi Engine!

a Really helpful framework
TowerOfPoweron previous version 6.4
The Corgi engine is a really helpful framework for anyone wanting to start a 2D platformer style game. I bought this asset on special with the Handcrafted Art included, which is a nice to have. The engine itself is easy to understand and saves a lot of time to get your game up and running. As other developers had said before, it's not really for developers who have a whole bunch of self designed scripts in their back pocket already. I had to ask myself, developing all these features from scratch will cost a lot more in development time that what the asset cost. You can always later on replace certain functionalities with your own code and eventually have your own framework.

Very poor documentation
shayaansiddiquion previous version 6.0
As a new developer, the website isn't very well organized. You would expect some step by step tutorials and then documentation to expand your skills.
I would love to see the developer create a few step by step tutorials

Thanks for your feedback.
I'm sorry you couldn't find the tutorials, you can find them all on the dedicated youtube channel, or via the functional documentation (https://corgi-engine-docs.moremountains.com/index.html), there's also a link to it on this very page.
As of today, there are 34 tutorials (and new ones coming regularly), covering each and every aspect of the engine. There's also a complete documentation, as well as a full API documentation, more than 60 demos showcasing all features of the engine, all classes are fully commented, a forum, a discord and a support form...
Of course if after that you still have questions, don't hesitate to contact me via the support form, I'll be happy to help!

Best Asset!

thalesafonsoon previous version v3.1.1
It's outstanding and filled of cool features.
We are having only one bad problem:
- When the player dies the game is getting very slowly when it restarts, even in the original asset without any change. What can it be?

I'm really happy you like the asset and really sorry you're having that issue. It's never been reported and I don't reproduce it so I'm not sure what could be causing this. Could you send me an email on the support email address with more details? Unity version, Corgi Engine version, build target, and all the info that could help me pinpoint the problem? Thanks!
