A solid, well-supported product
2 months ago
MarkHenryCon version 9.4
The first impression you'll make in your platformer is with the character's core moves like running, jumping, clinging etc. Getting those moves right can take a load of iteration. This product has been around for years and has done just that. You start out with some of the trickiest problems already solved but with virtually limitless options to customise behaviour, AI and kinematic action. Just about every component is subclassable so you can modify behaviour - or introduce new functionality - without affecting Corgi updates. You can go low-code or script as much as you want. This is a solid, comprehensive development framework backed by a committed developer.

You can do a lot of things in this engine and quite easily too. You don't even need coding experience. You can make a variety of levels, gameplay, etc... all relatively easily.

Nobody's ever reported any tearing issue with the engine, and for good reason: the Corgi Engine doesn't do any rendering, Unity does.
Depending on your settings and hardware there are various solutions you could pick (vsync, driver settings, etc). Without more info about your exact issue it's hard to help more, but please use the support form and I'll guide you through it.
Thanks a lot for this complete solution for Platformer games. I love how there are so many great Demos included. Thanks!

I really enjoy using Corgi Engine in my project, it has a lot of good stuff that can speed up your project. Sometimes you can even use its source as a reference to implement something else. It is really flexible and full of awesome features. I highly recommend.

Excellent Support, Excellent Asset!

* Easy to learn
* Easy to understand the source code
* I am using Animancer Pro instead of Macanim, and so far it's working great! It's not a slap in replacement, but I have a component that hooks into the Corgi State events, and then triggers the animations to play in the Animancer Pro state machine. There is a lot of flexibility with the Corgi Engine.
* The author is updating the Character Level Bounds with my suggestion to have a Loop option for when the character reaches the level bounds (so that the character loops around to the opposite side of the screen, like in Asteroids or Joust). Thank you!
A ton of work has gone into the Corgi Engine, so if you do not want to write it all yourself from scratch, and would rather use a tried and true library for 2D/2.5D development, created by an author that supports the product, then Corgi Engine is an excellent choice!
