I like this asset. The NPC test scene is a blast to watch the AI battle it out. Everything feels pretty fluid. So far so good on ease of use.

Its a really hard one to give a review, TLDR - Accurate Documentation and tutorials that are updated would easily put this project to a five start. The quality of the product is great - Stand Alone - Hard to use your own assets without getting constant errors . there is a warning on the page. it will take a bit to get it going but i think... its saved me more time buying it than building it from scratch - yet to be seen. if they put the same production value in the trailer as they did with documentation and tutorial videos this would easily be a 5 star review. some of it kinda makes sense, but once you start putting your own assets in, it just starts the cluster fuck you have to work through to get it going. Pro's are its very modular - (too a fault sometimes) as you have to figure out everything you need by yourself or switching between scenes constantly. But - very good to make your own, and modify. The videos i have found for this are out dated and there is a bit of wading through the weeds to get it going. What this asset does, is cut out the beginner heavy lifting of a new project and gets you into the meat of your game faster. I might come back and change my review, but once things become easier(through unfortnate trial and error), But you wont find any resources that are helpful - The website also doesnt work -

Realy amazing asset

I'm making a VR project and don't need about half of this package (bought for AI), but this is an outstanding deal for just the parts I'm using, let alone the rest of the asset. It takes a minute to get used to and understand, but it offers a lot of great possibilities that I have been unable to find elsewhere. It's not the easiest package to integrate with existing packages (it is a template after all), but I managed to get everything working with my 2+ year old game and it has been a blast so far. I could go on, but if you need great shooter AI and are fine spending some time and effort to get it, this template is a must buy! EDIT: Unfortunately, any form of support is lacking at this time. I contacted the dev around 1 week ago and haven't received a response (despite getting them to reply to this review). The tutorials are also not really worth your time as they mainly show the dev adding components to characters without explaining too much. I haven't found any solid documentation either, so you're pretty much on your own with the demo scenes. Another issue I've found is there are a few features missing or incomplete and it doesn't seem like they are going to be fixed or finished any time soon (I hope I'm wrong though because I would love to see this asset get more updates). The "Brain Editor" is nice but a little buggy still and tends to give me at least one crash per session and a lot more crashes during runtime that luckily don't occur when the game is built. I've tried to let the dev know about these issues but I still receive no response. I'm lowering my review to 3 stars to hopefully get the developer's attention as this seems to be the only way to do so. I really do enjoy this asset and want to see it improve, but the lack of communication and incomplete features that aren't acknowledged by the description or anywhere else before purchase should be known if you're thinking of buying this. If the developer is working on more updates, then I don't mind the missing features and bugs, but it seems like they only relisted this asset to get a few more dollars. If this is the case, please let the buyer know that you have no intention to provide support or further updates. Like I said, it is worth it for the lower price, but there should be more transparency on the developer's end. If you are an experienced Unity developer, you'll have a good time, but be cautious if you're a beginner.

The Biggest bang for the buck I have ever seen in the Asset Store. A little clunky and needs work but it's lots of fun. It seems more work went into the AI then the shooter mechanics, but the AI is what i love about it.

I just have a question for the creator of the asset : how can I make an AI companion for the player ?

What you'll notice is the potential of this asset. There is a lot here, and most of it works really well. And then there is a lot that was promised, and that is probably never coming. I was happy to see the asset was pulled out of its deprecated state, but recent updates are only maintenance for editor compatibility. I really like the character controller. The cover shooter aspects and platforming are kind of twitchy. But I've used this package as a base to make a nice twin stick top-down controller. Something like that requires digging around in the code and writing new stuff. This asset uses the old Unity input system. I found converting it to use the new system to be pretty easy. The input classes are nicely decoupled from the character controllers and motors. I doubt I'll ever try to use this asset as a game framework (it tries to be one for several genres), but I come back to it now and then to scavenge usable bits for my games.

I wanted to give full rating but their website claims Future expansions that includes start/stop animation, swim, ladder, etc., When this is available, I will be very happy to give shinning full stars!

There have been no updates to this incredible asset and it looks like it has been abandoned. What a shame.
