Render pipeline compatibility
The Built-in Render Pipeline is Unity’s default render pipeline. It is a general-purpose render pipeline that has limited options for customization. The Universal Render Pipeline (URP) is a Scriptable Render Pipeline that is quick and easy to customize, and lets you create optimized graphics across a wide range of platforms. The High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) is a Scriptable Render Pipeline that lets you create cutting-edge, high-fidelity graphics on high-end platforms.

Description

The PhysRay Plugin from OPPO allows developers to leverage hardware ray tracing inside of Unity apps built for Android devices. This plugin provides support for ray-traced reflections and shadows. It also included tools to help setup scenes for ray tracing and convert standard materials to materials that support Android ray tracing.


Minimum Unity Version: 2021.3.14f1

Technical details

The PhysRay plugin allows developers to utilize hardware ray tracing on Android devices* that support it.


Supported Effects:

  • Ray-traced reflection
  • Ray-traced shadows

Tools:

  • Scene setup tools to automatically attach required scripts for ray tracing.
  • Material conversion tools to convert standard materials for the Built-In Pipeline to PhysRay's ORM material which supports ray traced effects.

Requirements:

  • Built-In render pipeline
  • Vulkan Graphics API
  • IL2CPP backend
  • Minimum Vulkan Version: 1.1 (1.2+ recommended)

* PhysRay requires the Vulkan API and ray tracing on Android requires hardware support for corresponding Vulkan extensions (minimum of Vulkan version 1.1 device support is required). Please refer to the hardware requirements and documentation for further information and verified device list.

** The Physray Plugin requires the Built-In Pipeline. URP and HDRP are not supported.
