Create the illusion of massively large scenes that can zoom from character/spaceship up to inter galactic scale.

Use mouse to orbit and mouse wheel to zoom.

The zoom is achieved using individually scaled 3d sky boxes separated by layers, each with a camera viewing only it's designated layer.

As you zoom in or out, each camera moves in turn. When the local layer camera is at max zoom, the planet layer camera starts zooming, then the star camera, galaxy camera and so on.

The sample scene contains the mouse orbit script and setup with a flyable spaceship, orbiting an earth size planet, that in turn orbits a gas giant size planet, orbiting a binary star system. You can then continue zooming out to see the galaxies.
