Great asset but I did not get what was shown in the video...

What you get is great for the price but....
- I did not get the house shown in the video/images. It has the same interior models, but it has the layout of Modern House 3. I bought this house because I really liked the way it looked through the video.
- I did not know this house was a bed and breakfast, as it has 5 bedrooms! Which normal house has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms?
- The shadows are baked into the textures. I did read that in the reviews before buying, but I would have preferred if the complete package would use Unity's standard shaders instead to allow modularity.
That being said, the rest is still great! The curtains wave nicely with a cloth component, all the furniture is still able to be moved around and have nice materials.

When I read the description that said the asset uses realistic baked GI, I thought that it has ligting set up and baked lightmaps. It does not!
The lighting is baked into actual textures - the rug has the shadow of the table baked! If I wish to change/delete/move the table, the shadow will stay. If I wanted to add another lamp? Remove or move an existing one? Tough luck, the light is baked onto the wall!
This makes this asset pretty much unusable, unless you just want to showcase it without any alteration.
Now that I checked, the answers to other reviews seem to say that there are "source" textures included. That must be about the included PSD file. Well, tough luck, I'm a programmer, not an artist, so I don't have a license for Photoshop, and I don't plan to buy/subscribe to one to properly use a 5$ asset. Not to mention that I'd have to export all of the textures, import to unity, and then change the materials of all the prefabs... Clearly the psd file is not the solution to this problem. A solution would be to rebuild the asset using clean textures and Unity lighting.

The source textures have been added in png format... In a rar file. I have to extract it, wait for them to import, and then manually change the textures on all the prefabs. Plus, some of them seem to be missing, for example the texture for the cutting board. But okay, I gave the asset another go.
Turns out, it has other problems. For one, the scale is off. The doors are over 3m high! overall, I think everything starts to have the correct scale around 0.6 on every axis.
The bigger problem is, the set is not built to be modular - take the kitchen for example. You have only one kitchen cabinet, but the rest is one big object, set in an L shape. The place for the oven and stove is set - you cant place them elsewhere, because of the placement of the cabinet doors. You cannot move/remove the sink. You cannot remove the corner - this is just a single big prefab. Moving the water tap, stove and oven doors to spearate prefabs is a formality - you cannot place them elsewhere.
If I'd dig deeper into this package I'd probably find firther problems, but I'm not sure I will - this asset consumed enough of my time, I might as well buy another one, hopefully better suited to game developers needs.

Thanks for your kind words and bringing this to our notice, realising this issue;
We have already updated all our packages with .PNG source textures.
As for your complains- We have update our maps (cleaned the shadow bakes) to make objects reusable.
You might have missed it in our description, we have mentioned that no lighting solution is included in this package.
This project was originally made to run smooth on mobile devices hence everything was baked into texture for optimisation, but now we have tried to provide every source file separately to make it a multi platform asset pack.
We are a bunch of artists and we would love to help you out, if you need any more assistance please P.M. us, until then please wait for the update.

Out of curiosity, what lightning solution did you use for the preview images of this package?

3 star for above average quality, 1 star for amount of assets.
and the final star will be given if all assets pivot point are within prop itself, instead of relative to "House" model center. (that will make troubles, when developers wanted to customize their scene)

I am using the latest version of Unity Pro, at this time, Unity 5.4.1f1
UPDATE: This designer IMMEDIATELY responded to my technical concerns (collisions, textures, etc.) so I removed those from this post. VERY GOOD SERVICE AND ATTITUDE!
We are building a virtual world, not "levels," so I imported the complete, decorated version into our world. I IMMEDIATELY removed the the fence walls (which had no gates), ground, paths, decks, etc. I always do this, so I can blend the structure into our large world. It looks VERY nice and imported into Unity and into our world with NO PROBLEMS OR ERRORS.
Please keep in mind we are building a desktop-based virtual world when you read this review. My observations and issues may not affect you. We are NOT on mobile.
This is amazing artwork, and a fantastic design. I am so pleased to see more designers creating homes with usable interiors - and not just a collection of walls you must add yourself piece by piece.
This looks fantastic! I'd gladly live here in real life. :) But, that is the problem. This looks supiciously like a real house that has been converted straight from its blueprints into a "virtual home." What works in real life does NOT work in a virtual setting. On a structure with such a small footprint this should have no more than two or three rooms per floor... not as many as 8... each floor! My cameras cant even see in many of them. For this reason, I just walled over the doorways of almost half the rooms.
This is one of the most common mistakes I see made in creating virtual structures. WAY TOO MANY ROOMS, MOST TOO SMALL TO USE. This has FOUR small bathrooms. Listen, part of being VIRTUAL is you do not have to pee. ;)
Tiny bedrooms and even tinier bathrooms serve no function. One large bathroom can be fun to decorate, and can even house a two-person tub. But cramming in FOUR bathrooms serves no useful purpose. Plus a tiny kitchen pantry, and some tiny rooms that make no sense to me.
This build would be far better with many fewer rooms - cut at least by half - OR... they might have given you options for removing some interior walls. Unfortunately, all the second floor walls are one piece.
I ended up simply creating walls and covering many of the small, useless rooms. I also removed beds and converted crowded, unusable bedrooms to dens.
Summation: A tremendous value. But, the designer obviously has never spent any time in a virtual world. This was built to be looked at... NOT USED!
This is a fantastic designer who possesses artistic vision, excellent design skills, and great talent in their craft. This may be fine for your uses. I hope you support them and they do very well as Unity designers. :)
I also have their Furniture Asset Pack. Very Nice. :)

Thank you for your review, we have updated our packages with collisions, please wait for a few days, also you can find the source textures with Diffuse, Gi, Light and Shadow maps that you can use to make your own textures sets. I think that objects are in inches, not in cm
For my use with my other items and FPS I have all reduce
They are lowpoly and not detailed enough for me
Hence the relatively low price I guess
As previously reported, these objects must be dynamic to respond properly with their shadows
Edit: Version 4.0
I would add a star for the many additional prefabs in this version
But the size of the objects is still inadequate, even if there is now an FPS
Always replace all textures with those provided in PNG or PSD...
So a lot of work to adapt

All the assets are mobile friendly hence they are low poly and we have tried to get all the details through textures.
All the textures (Diffuse / GI / Shadow / Light) are included in the package seperately

Yes, remarkable asset! It is a lot of models and texture for mobile and desktop platforms! At first I had problems because asset included only textures with the baked shadows. Authors were very kind, they quickly responded to my letter and quickly solved a problem, having made an upgrade.
House very big and interesting for a research. It is well optimized and planned. Asset will be ideal as for classical adventures with the fixed camera, and for amnesia-style games in first person perspective. Five stars!!!
