Really nice pack almost for free
F_Morrison version 1.3
The asset contains 30+ premade buildings plus some low-poly for background, to say nothing for tons of props. Definitely worth buying

街が作りたい方にはいいと思う
daihukutan2525on version 1.3

Essential For City Builders
neptoonismon version 1.3
This pack's low price and modularity make it essential, but it has some caveats. The main issue is the scaling - prefabs in the pack are scaled down to 0.0254 and models are actually huge when scaled normally. If you want to fix this, it's a huge task getting each model to 1, 1, 1 scaling (in blender, scale object up to 1, 1, 1 then scale mesh back down 0.025, put object transform back to 0, 0, 0). All of the assembled building prefabs are going to be messed up after doing that since they are all still using this 0.0254 scaling. The pack would be better if everything was scaled to 1, 1, 1 already as that's usually the standard for assets in the store (including the other town constructors). There is an amazing free tool in the asset store called 'mesh normalizer' which rescales the mesh and sets the object to 1, 1, 1 scaling. The second issue is the state of the textures. Others have mentioned the tga format which has an alpha channel issue in most image editors - not a big problem if you prefer to work with png but the main issue is that when you do that the grainyness of the textures is revealed. What I found is that the tgas are actually getting scaled down in unity (to 2k) which provides a softness that can be reproduced in png by limiting the image size in the import settings to 2k. You might as well save all the textures at 2048x2048 because the import settings are set to that and using a higher resolution doesn't look good at all. The third issue - which is really actually a good thing - is that all of the building textures are in a shared atlas. While this is a great practice for enhancing performance, it's difficult to isolate models/textures so you can enhance them. You would need uv unwrap individual models and bake textures from the old uvs to the new uvs which can be done in blender but it's kind of an advanced technique (search 'Bake Textures From One UV Map to Another UV Map' on youtube). Mesh Baker also does this really well. Even though it's cheap, the pack would be much more useful if everything was scaled to 1, 1, 1 and the textures were not atlased (so you could do that yourself if you wanted to). Town Constructor 3 is properly scaled and also has LODs. The issues aside, this is exemplary of how an asset can be modular. Units generally are to the whole number so snapping works, prefabed walls, roofs, and other parts are very practical. You can just build away and it looks great. This could be a fantastic base for someone who wants to build a model town, but be aware of the issues so if you want to improve the textures or mix this with other city packs you have an idea of what you'll probably want to fix.

Great Value with Pros & Cons
JesterDanceon version 1.3
This is an older pack but still a great value for the amount and overall quality of the pieces you get. Few things to be aware of: * Atlas textures are in multi-page .tif format which Photoshop, GIMP, and Paint.NET fails to read correctly. Sketchbook loads them with no problems, however. * Atlas textures make it difficult to customize the look of the pack and with so many meshes packed into each UV map the pieces have lower detail overall. * Sizing & tiling of certain pieces is off slightly. Likely not noticeable in a top down or third person view. * Road texturing appears to be wrong which causes the lane markers to be in odd locations. Looks like this was fixed in later Town Constructor packs.

Great town set

AdamQon version 1.3
The assets look good in general. There is a decent amount of additional props to increase diversity. There are some minor issues with the seams for some of the pieces and the ground floor pieces tend not to have seperate segments for doors but otherwise for the price excellent value.

the best asset but...

zeoueon version 1.3
I bought it to use in the background, but it doesn't open in 2017.4.28f1. Since there are many users of 2017.4ver, it would be helpful to update the demo with a prefab.

PERFECT

WadjetEyeon version 1.3
This pack has it all. Everything snaps together perfectly. Tons of prefab buildings tons of props to make your own if the prefabs don't mesh with exactly what you're looking for. The assets look great in either day or nighttime lighting (I used a night scene, with liberal use of the nighttime atlas for lit windows and things). I had lots of fun putting together a little city block for my jam game and it looks amazing. Thank you for creating this.

Great asset I can no longer use.

cybermyndon version 1.3
I can't complain too much. Great asset for an amazing price. Unfortunately I still need to use 2017.4.22fp1 so now it's useless to me. Should have looked closer when updating. I don't know why we can't revert to older versions! Still - recommended for 2018 on up.

Contact me on my support mail or on facebook and I'll send you reverted version. Mostly Its new prefab system is preventing backward compatibility. So unpacking all prefabs in the scene will do the trick.
