Hello Methexis Studio,
I experienced a problem with you and got an answer with ver. 1.23 would be all fixed with Unity 2018.3.3.
That may be, but when I import it will not be updated to 1.23.
I can always only load 1.22.
In the scene it looks so good that I would like to give 5 stars but currently it doesn't work because of the old update.
Let me hear from you I would like to award 5 stars.
Good luck to all users and a nice day
pit
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Now everything works, thanks to the good support.
5 stars for it

Hello Pit, for 1.23 to work you need to install it from Unity 2018.3.7, try that on a clean project and please contact me at antonis.fassolas@gmail.com to help you if there is a problem. Thank you
First of the good things: The models have so many nice little details and texture quality is extremely good.
But maybe I should have read the comments before buying. :D
Your work surely deserves the asked price but there's still a lot more to do for performance, to become better than similar priced modular-packs and actually usable for me.
I the vertice-count (no LODs) is allright for me. But there is no way of combining anything!
Every model has it's own texture with lot of empty space.
So in the demo-scens are over a few thousand renderers,
each with a diffrent PBR-material each with wasted space on the textures. This directly means that around 30% of the RAM/vRam used for keeping the textures ready and apply them is wasted.
I would recommend to sort the textures by rooms, and combine them into one huge texture. For example the garage walls are 4 diffrent textures. make them one 4k texture.
So after putting together a garage one can combine it into 1 renderer with 1 texture.
This should really amp up the performance and is aiming for a more professional workflow. Because at the end of the day, all the vertices and textures are necessary to keep up the incredibly good visuals your assets have, so the best thing you can do is keep the overhead as minimal as possible.
Another recommendation would be the addition of corner pieces, between walls on ceilings/floors to smoothen the edges of the corridors.
And since you are obviously working with substance-painter, you could easily make a 2nd version of the textures with some grunge & scratches.
I hope that I didn't phrase this too harsh and that you continue to improve your asset, like you did before! :)
Now since I obviously can`t spent the time on doing all that myself, to make your assets work for my game.
I would offer to give you more detailed advice and reviews, to help you make it the best modular-pack in the assetstore.
Like I said, you design & modelling is very beatuiful!

Hi Kayb14 and thanks for the review. I would like to address some of the things you are talking about here.
I am not sure if you are familiar with texels and texel density ( don't worry I am not going to do a lecture here :) ) Texel density means the number of pixels that exist at a given model surface, ie 1 meter.
When someone is creating a game he knows how this texel density is going to play on his assets, because he knows where these models are going to be placed and what part will they play in the game.
So models that are far off at the background have smaller texel density and texture, models that are closer to the player but which will never be too close have higher texel density and finally, models that are very close to the player (or even the player himself) have the highest texel density and bigger textures.
The Sci-Fi Modular pack is not designed for any specific game with predetermined needs in regard to the models. This is also the case on most (if not all ) the assets sold in the asset store.
When we are developing such a product, we want to allow the developer to decide what to do with the models (if they will be close or far from the player ) so we create assets and models with high texel density that looks good up close, with great detail and if the developer decides otherwise there are hundreds of ways to make all this smaller. But the initial textures and texel density should be high because it can be reduced while this is not the case for the opposite.
So if as you say, take the garage walls that have 4 different textures and make one 4k texture then the texel density is decreased very much and so the quality of the product.
This is directly connected with the textures of the models. If you want a modular floor tile to look good it has to have high texel density this means that it can occupy a bigger surface and this is achieved at the cost of wasting some uv space. If the model was designed for the background then we would fit in one 4k texture many uvs cause the player would see the models from a distance as I explained earlier.
The performance of the Sci-Fi Modular Pack is very good if you are using graphics cards that are even 6 years old. We get over 120 -140 fps for the level of the main scene which is very big. For cards like a standard today GTX 1060 we get even better performances on modest machines. VRam is not a problem with cards that hold 4 to 8 GB. If you are not getting these performances please contact Methexis Studios for help on setting up the asset pack.
Our goal is to continue optimizing and improving the Sci-Fi Modular Pack.

Complete asset pack - value for money

Just love the modularity it offers with all the combinations that allow you to create many levels in three color sets. The quality of the textures is amazing and the optimization of the models is very good.
Naming conventions are good and meaningful which is important on a pack this big. Props are great and highly detailed.
I would love to have 4K textures but the size I am sure would make the pack very big.
I recommend it highly and I hope the team continues to upgrade it!

Size: Huge
Modularity: Excellent
Variations: 5
Atmosphere: Great
I love this pack after reading the readme file and setting up according to the publisher I couldn't wait for baking and taking a good look at it. I was impressed.
Many combinations of walls. There are walls that consist of 4 parts and 3 color variations you can do the math on how many combinations you can do with just one (four-part wall).
So many floor types and ceilings to choose from all in three color variations. Truly endless combinations to create your levels.
Models well optimized but have not tested them on any mobile.
Many useful scripts, HDR galaxy skybox, guns and grenades add to the realism of the pack.
Great collection of short videos playing to show up monitor content.
Really happy about it, consider it a great tool and a must for Sci-Fi devs.

A complete Sci-Fi package with so many prefabs and variations that it is becoming my ultimate tool for creating levels and interior scenes.
The pack is well organized all the prefabs are in their folders named in a clean way and a certain name code has been used for all the modular parts and their variations.
Mainly there are 3 color variations, red, orange and gray but also there are style variations all neatly ordered in meaningfully named prefabs.
All models are highly optimized there is lack of LODs but that is understandable since there are so many LOD solutions for Unity and the huge size of this thing would just make things more complicated. I personally use Simple LOD for all my projects.
The pack uses Deferred rendering path to shine in all its glory and if you use the post-processing stack you can have a great atmosphere in no time. I was expecting the scenes to use PPS and I contacted the publisher about it.
Apparently, Unity 2018.1 had a problem during the asset store submission to put the MainCamera on a separate layer that is needed to work the PPS, therefore it was their decision to leave the pack without setting PPS because "it was confusing to new users". After installation, you can set it up in no time.
This version was also an upgrade to a previous version and they even include a folder on some previous assets that are not optimized much and have been totally replaced in this version.
The pack offers a weapons system. They call it simple but it's all I need. You just make your weapon prefab a child of the weapons holder and you got yourself another weapon. they offer three weapons. Additionally, there is a grenade and an emp bomb that I am having great fun with.
The pack is ideal for making atmospheric levels and scenes. The presentation of it by the publishers is mostly done to show off the details of the models ( which in fact are amazing ) but I 've been playing with the lights and I am getting great results.
It has got some very interesting scripts and particle work that you have to look hard to find.
Because I am seeing some unfair reviews probably of not so technical people that have gotten this asset pack I want to say that this is a huge pack, don't just jump right into it. Carefully read the instructions, make a new project, set the correct environment in Unity to run this beast.
If you are a previous version owner you certainly must update to the latest version. If you get a warning make sure it is crucial (Unity makes all kinds of warnings), my experience with the publisher was great.
Really I could go on and on to cover every little detail of this pack but I have no time. In conclusion, I will say it is an amazing price for value product. Top quality and I highly recommend it.

While the models in the pack do look amazing, that is because they include way too much geometry. Flat panels that should be just a few hundred verts plus a normal map are 4000 vertices. There is a staircase that is almost 40,000 vertices. none of the prefabs have any LODs on them, so you are stuck running all of these super-high detail models all the time.
This pack has tons of potential, but the devs needs to some serious work on the performance front.
EDIT: The devs have put a lot of work into optimizing this pack and it shows. it now runs MUCH more smoothly and the models still look great. While I would still like to see them put some effort into LODs for their models, it's hard to fault the quality of their work now that they've begun to focus on the performance side of things as well.

Hi there and thanks for your review. Actually, a major upgrade has been submitted a week ago. Takes care of all optimization issues. Everything has been redesigned from scratch and the size of the package has increased to include over 400 prefabs in the coming version 1.2 You are eligible for a free upgrade on that. Please visit and like our Facebook page https://facebook.com/methexistudios to get informed on this upcoming update, as well as here https://facebook.com/SciFiModularSupport/ We do not use LODs in our packs since there are many LOD solutions at the asset store and for free and many devs use their own solutions. The new pack is 400% bigger in terms of models but 50% smaller in hard disk space and we are certain you will find the optimization it has undergone very satisfying. Please, when you do get the update, reconsider your review here. Thank you.
EDIT: Since you are reviewing the latest version with the optimized graphics that have been redesigned, we would think that the part of your old review on the old version of the product must not be included because it might confuse the people who will be getting the latest version. Thank you for recognizing the effort and work we put into the new version.

Screenshots are telling the truth - great looing asset!
After buying and looking through many modular assets I decided to use mainly this one. It has character, it has many already created, meaningful and fitting rooms, different variants of textures and models, keeping the same style, etc
It fits deferred rendering path and with Post-Effects Pack you'll be fine. Without them too much realtime lighting will make processor heavy AAA-style models.
Of course, when you are developing your game, you may want tinker with assets a little, change models and textures. I asked help from developer, and...
Support was great!
Recommended.

First Paid Asset Pack (Quite Happy)

zwvankleeck基于上一个版本 1.0
I've downloaded a lot of free packs in the past. This one fit quite well with a Game Jam I'm a part of, so I thought, why not, it beats primitives.
I'm really happy with how well all the parts snap together.
It's going to make level creating for my game a lot less stressfull. So thanks for that.
I did notice that all of the prefabs are lacking lighting, and I was wondering if that was by design. There are lights built into the models but they don't illuminate the room, and that lead me to believe maybe I was doing something wrong.
Another thing- I have a decent computer, 16 gigs of ram, 4Cores at 4Ghz (OC), and an FXF R7900, but when I load your scene into the editor, my game jumps to between 3 and 18 FPS. That really concerned me. What specs are you suggesting people are running while using this pack?
EDIT:
I used the pack today and am working on a level.
I noticed a couple things I would love to see in the future.
1. some of the objects have decals on them that lend to a specific environment. Security, earth, medical, etc... One wall warns of electrical shock. This is cool- but doesn't fit with my environment. I keep trying to hide thoses while trying to use the asset.
2.I'd love to see more props. Once I made my room the way I wanted it, I realized I was incredibly limitted when it came to decorating.
Some computers, work stations, similar to a star trek bridge or the starwars bridge scenes or Mass Effect Normandy Bridge.
3. The "Pillar" rounded corners. I love them. I'd love a full wall pack like that. Also an inside corner that is rounded without the colored texture, to match the "pillar" corner would be awesome.
4 Ventilation Shafts, for stealth gameplay would be fantastic. I know I could build them with the floors and ceilings, but it didn't look right, becuase it didn't match the aesthetic of the rest of the environment.
5. Stairs and Ladders. I know you have the larger stairs that go from floor to floor, but stairs that rose only 2-4 meters would be nice.
6. This one is kind of... meh... but I was planning on using the Energy Generator Throughout 3 floors of my ship, but I realised that EnergaB contains wires that belong on the bottom of the object, so I could not Move the top two portions up farther, like I wanted to.
I love this asset pack. I'm not down on it at all. I look forward to creditting you in my game for the assets.
Don't hear me wrong. I really enjoy this pack, those were just the two things that didn't go away after all the "woah! I could do this with that!" excitement.
thanks for building this. I can't wait to build my levels now, which is usually my least favorite part.
P.S. Thanks for the video script. That thing will be incredibly useful.

Hello Zachary we are glad to see how satisfied you are with our product and thank you for your review.
The parts prefabs (corridor blocks) are lacking lights cause it increases the flexibility for the end developer to use lights as they please. The ready rooms prefabs all have lights build in.
The “lights” that are build into the models use emmisive textures so in order for them to work you must play a bit with the texture settings to set the luminosity as you desire.
About the extremely low fps you are reporting please check again the Readme.txt file and set everything as described there. Also Occlusion needs to be rebaked.
For Linear space on Unity ver. 5.5.f043 set Go to Edit > Project Settings > Player > Rendering : Color Space Linear.
Rendering Path is not needed to be set
We are glad that you already have made so many suggestions on the expansion of this environment pack. To give you a general road map on the development stage you will pleased to know there will be an optimization upgrade and a model upgrade till June.
Your input in this review will be taken into account and you could also email us other suggestions you might have.
Again thank you for your review and please feel free to contact us at antonis.fassolas@gmail.com
