Material and Texture Data Issues

I purchased this product expecting it to work out of box and it does not. once I drag and drop the asset into the scene the texture and material files are not mapped properly and some are flipped to the inside. I suggest an update to this file where the textures are properly mapped.

Don't expect this to work outside the editor.

This is a beautiful model of the Earth, the textures and shaders are great. But to be clear, this is only an asset to be used from afar. There's no height mapping on the ground, and the atmosphere is just a translucent sphere. This isn't a problem, of course, if you just want to have a great looking Earth.
However, if you want to use this asset outside of the editor (i.e. if you ever want to build your application), you need to look somewhere else. The textures exceed the maximum allowed for Unity and it will break your game. This isn't normally an issue, as there are ways to get around this by compressing and bundling assets to be accessed later, but with this particular asset, this doesn't work. It's got something to do with the way the prefab is structured, I'm sure, but I can't find a way to fix it.
And try as I may, I can't seem to get in touch with the creators to find out how to get this properly working outside the editor. So, until there is a tutorial out on this, or the creators acknowledge this problem, you should go find a different asset.

The textures hold up at close scrutiny and the 64K textures do look incredible.
If we need to use ~~AssetBundles~~ --> Addressables to get around the max texture size default limit, a brief walkthrough on that would be awesome.
Author has provided email address for contact, will try that. Their website appears to be down. EDIT: stagit.mobi is back up.

Beautiful, crazy large, but has a memory leak

So after getting this integrated into our project, we learned that (a) it's HUGE, we need to manage texture sizes, added 2Gb to our repo, and (b) it appears to have a memory leak, the instability caused us to remove it from our project, because we just don't have time to debug it right now. But wow, it sure it beautiful. If we didn't have a mission critical project, I wouldn't be as concerned, but it won't run overnight in its current state.

Sorry for the late response. I'm currently working on an update and mostly also documentation how to solve some issues when doing a final build. This asset requires some knowledge because of its enormous size in textures etc which is still not common nowadays.

Hi! I sent you an email yesterday saying that I've managed to get a very nice scene with the earth running in playmode, but once I build, the executable will have very weird textures, like glitchy, with parts of map texture in the skybox and so on...
In the description You say something about limiting texture size, but can you be more specific? Also, had to recreate another atmosphere as I didn't see the thin layer around earth... If you can clarify those I'll come back and 5 star this beautiful project

Amazing quality for a low price. One of the best Earth models I could find for my project. The bump maps and spec maps, clouds are very detailed also and just makes everything complete.
Didn't had any problems except importing took some time ofcourse.
The Geo locations of cities and the borders of countries are a very nice add on and very usefull. Lots of things to play with with this cheap asset.
Would be nice to have a high resolution Moon also.

I'm sorry for the late response, the connection you have made downloading the assets are made with the unity servers. Because of the high resolutions this is a very large package.
However since the packages are downloaded from Unity servers, i can't give support on this or on the downloading speed. If you are really stuck on this, contact me and i can give you another download.

Great asset, but...

We've been using the Earth 64K package which is a great asset! However, we need it to show mainly the France and sadly there is an artefact on the south east of France (see screenshot).
It seems to come from uv mapping because textures seem to be ok.
Any idea?

I'm really sorry about this. I have spent over 100 hours correcting artifacts on large detail.
On the next update i will take a close look at those coordinates.
