Great results with minimal effort

We used this asset for our upcoming golf game and we are very happy with the final results. For best results I recommend fully understanding the toolset, but it's really not too difficult. Nice spline tool and fantastic textures.

Not bad but has some problems and has not good tutorials

It is not a bad asset but after seeing their tutorials i don't find a way to make lava rivers that don't look really ugly, it is ok if you just reuse the lava rivers the creator made in their demos but if you try to make your own rivers good luck. Even in his demos there are mistakes, like you can see the connections between rivers is not well and you can see they are clearly split. If you try to connect two rivers they connect very bad, author doesn't explain anywhere how to do it properly. By default you add profiles that look ugly in many cases and i guess you have to paint it yourself with the painting tool in the asset. Also when i use ctr+z to reverse some changes like river connections Unity freezes. Also sometimes the move tool in Unity doesnt work for the lava rivers but yes for other objects. The vertex painter doesn't work in some rocks i tried and mesh coloring ram script has the same problem, worked in one rock and not in others

1. You must use post processing as emission work only with bloom effect at engine. We mention that in tutorial demo scene and video. Unity doesnt have emission without post process thats why it look strange to you. 2. If you connect rivers proprly connection is 1;1 with uv so coudnt be any mistakes. You got full video tutorial where we connect rivers. Please watch it to the end, its pretty long. 3. Vertex paint work on all prefabs that have vertex painted in name. To paint vertex color on rocks they must have our shader on mesh. Thats why we give prefabs with and without vertex color support. 4. Please watch and fallow tutorials to the end before you judge and write reviews, you also got tips at tutorial demo scene about vertex color and emission

We mark this few times that update cost only 10$ . Huge system and engine rebuild, 6 months of work force us to made paid update into 2019 version. We cant work for free. Assets are our full time job.

Scaling river spline

The demo videos and images of this asset look amazing, they are exactly what I need. However, after creating an empty unity project in Unity 2018.2.11f1 and importing this asset it looks like crap. The post process used to render the screen shots and video must not be configured and the Spline Manual (which appears to be the only documentation) tells me nothing. Additionally, after following the spline manual documentation I am unable to get the following step to do anything except deselect the RAM spline object: "3. Add points (raycast from mouse) when you hold CTRL + Left Mouse . Setup few points like that." Is it possible this due to my version of Unity? And if so, can you please fix it and I'll be glad to update my review. Edit 1: Thanks for the response. I took another crack at getting this working and realized a very important requirement which I can't find clearly stated in your documentation, so hopefully this helps someone else out. It turns out that the RAM spline editor doesn't place points when you ctrl + click unless the click is on top of a terrain surface. I'm not necessarily using Unity terrain in all cases, for performance reasons. So hopefully that helps someone in the future. Also, I've added the Unity post processing stack V2 bloom and while it helps, the lava rivers in your "Lava Demo 1" scene still look terrible, which is weird because the lava in the "Lava Demo 2" and Lava Demo 3" scenes look great. Anyway, I increased the review to 4 stars because I'm still really impressed with this products potential, but far from a turn-key solution that I'd hoped for.

Hi First of all lava is emissive material and emission only show up at your project when you turn on bloom image effect. This is how engine construction is:) You got third party asset folder where you will find post process stacks which you could import. They will bring this quality which you loooking for. Anyway this post process are not hardcore - means they are pretty stable and suitable for everyscene. We do not post process hard because asset must fit all scenes. Btw look at video tutorial where we setup all splines, rives step by step and present all features and options on screen - its long but will show you how you can use and play with it.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru-W7eR7iEs&t=1s If you coudnt setup a point it means you got errors in your project from other assets which block compile editor script. This exacly block whole editor scripts systems. Try it on empty project and Im sure it will work. Then check console in your old project and resolve all compiler erros before asset import so it will not block editor script compilation. Please also dont import srp sub packs until you dont use srp in your project. I personaly use it in projects at 2018.2.7 and its fine so it's not engine version at all. He has shown time and time again, that he really cares about all of his assets..He works super hard with his team to make sure it works with the known assets such as Vegetation Studio , .. All of his assets work well together.. I personally never use anyone art as I'm an artist, but I tend to use some of Barts, since they are great they save me time so I can get other work done for our new Steam game. We will be using some of this in our new game..I had no plans to have lava of any sort..BUT after seeing this asset, it made me think of a new area, for our game we plan to use it for underground... So thanks for such a great asset. Adding the ability to control FLOW is awesome.. can't wait to see what he makes next

Difficult to get to flow. EDIT: Publisher is a joy to work with. Issues have been fixed to my knowledge, Rating Changed.

I'm personally having a LOT of trouble altering the flow. I can sort of influence the flow direction arrows, but when I hide flow it ignores the arrows and the strength of them entirely. This would not be a problem if the flow was down the length of the spline, but it seems to travel to the side in my case. For arguments sake, say you had a straight spline that was basically like having a 2 x 8 rectangle. The flow would be in the direction of the shorter dimention, in this case 2, instead of either possible path along the length. I'm sure it's a quality asset, but I'm having so much difficulty trying to get it to behave that I haven't dived into trying to use it in an environment project. If you can't get it working on a flat terrain, then the difficulties using sculpted terrain will only make it more complicated. EDIT: Response 1 to Publisher Questions: it doesn't matter. but for reference I'm trying to use the spline on a flat terrain and flow is as mentioned above giving issues. It's the spline having problems. so whatever gets added via the add game object option. spline. EDIT 2: Seems the issues are fixed thus far. Rating changed to reflect. Positive experience. Definitely a quality publisher, Even threw in a gift, which was unexpected, that may prove useful as well.

You mean our spline or at your custom mesh? At our spline or simple plane it works fine but if you use custom mesh and this mesh have inverted/rotated.messed uv it could be diffucult. to compare debug shader with real flow. Edit.1 But terrain under spline have no matter in relation to flowmap. Spline manage flow speed, maybe when you have take normals from terrain it could have matter. Spline slope have no matter it only change speed. Hmm we would love to check what happend there. If you would like to play with it together so we could investigate this. Please contact our mail.
