A good package with some unnecessary flaws

I got the package on sale for a dollar, to get this out first : For a dollar it is a really great product, thats why I got it. Seeing that this now costs 10 dollars I want to give an honest review based just off the usability of the product, not the price. Pros: The scenes that come with the asset are looking good and the prefabs are of solid quality. The models are simple but well designed. I like the textures, although the concrete maps have a sand-ish feel in the colors, something I would rather achieve with the lighting than have it embedded in the texture map. The package comes with well setup scenes that share the same well designed layout with different Time of Days and Lightings. If you need something to test gun mechanics or something like that really quickly in a decently layouted map this is probably the right thing for you. Cons The way this is setup is very unfortunate. You have good looking demo scenes and prefabs that you can use out of the box (see Pros) but you cant change much about them. The walls and floors are all a single mesh that is note made out of individual parts. that means you cant extend or shrink the warehouse in any direction. The metal beams are fixed into ONE big mesh too, meaning that you cannot move them individually. I am aware that it does not say anywhere that this is modular and the file list shows that this is very static, but still - there is literally no reason for it not to be at least SOME sort of modular, like having the floor seperated from the rest. The author explicitly states : Note : Each models in the hangar can be individually moved or removed to your own desire. That isnt true. Each PROP can be moved, but each model is not true as this suggests that the hangar is made out of different parts and can be rearranged to add floors, scale the warehouse to any size etc etc.I had to manually split the meshes for the asset to be at least of some use outside the demo scenes so this is definetly a wrong information. For a dollar this is 5* and of amazing value For ten dollars this is 3* , I can only recommend it if you need it for the exact reasons as stated in the pros.

I cannot use this map due to some error where using the demo scene if I try press play it shows the camera view on the lower 1/4 of the screen and a non moving static image on the top. Most likely something to do with the effects.

So the downside, this is such a nice looking asset and at a spectacular cheap price can only mean that there is a good chance it will be found in many games. But even still, I challenge you to find or make a better looking environment for this cheap. Like some have stated, the post-processing effects and be a bit tricky. Everything else about this asset is an upside. Very happy with it. I had it working with RealisticFPS in no time. (Make sure you delete/disable the scene camera). If your in need of a quick environment even for prototyping this will get you up and running in style. Thank you Novashade!

This asset helped me understand lighting in unity

This asset gives you a good looking level for fps games. Lighting is configured pretty well. It took a time to get the quality as screenshots, but through the struggle I got some basic knowledge of unity's lighting system.

How to make compatible with Realistic fps prefab??

Honestly the models and lighting in this asset are outstanding for the price, however when using the main character from the realistic fps prefab, most of the screen is covered by the skybox background set on the camera, and is not actually showing the warehouse. Please help, so I can give it a 5 star.

Hi , if I were you, I would check the clipping distance of the camera in your fps prefab.

The models themelves are well done for the most part but as most said, the room is just one object and in actuality the upper level is not really usable at all. While requesting separate objects for the room mesh(s), for instance the metal bars going across the top half of the room, the developer has yet to respond. You get what you pay for lol i'll change my rating if i ever hear back from the dev.

Great looking package for the price and is an excellent add-on for an FPS game or similar. The two demos look great, and I can confirm there are multiple FBX files. NOTE: The shader error, just comment line #173 in 'test tmp.'

Very good, but have some flaws

Pros: - Super cheap. - Nice scene, nice models and textures. - The demo scene look very realistic, and it help newbies learn how to setting scene and light. - For a realistic scene like this, the polygon count is super LOW! Good job! (70k tris for all scene) Cons: - One fbx object contain almost all scenes. Object have separate mesh, but it is still hard to use if you want to create your own scene from scratch. - The materials use Shader Forge's custom shaders, not standard. So, on Unity 2017.2, they crashed and became pink. For example about the error: Shader error in 'Shader Forge/Concrete floor': invalid subscript 'boxMax' at line 164 (on glcore) You can change all material's shaders from Shader Forge/... to Standard to fix those errors.
