Great top-down map idea, but with a few small issues.

Random_Dev78on version 1.3
I really like the modular nature of the pack and only have some minor complaints.
Good:
- It's very adjustable and makes things like creating different levels for depth pretty easy.
- It's a nice and cohesive art style that blends well with a lot of stylized fantasy content.
- It's pretty easy to use for being modular.
- I love the aesthetic and style, it looks beautiful.
- The hand-painted art is really well done.
Cons:
**Ideally, the grass and trails should have been available as different textures and should have been made to be seamless.**
- Since the trails are built into the tiles for individual textures, it can be very difficult to make changes and keep everything looking right. (changing one spot with dirt or adding one requires changing a lot of ground tiles).
- The ground tiles being made up of squares seems to sometimes cause collision problems and make it easy to fall through the floor.
(personally, I had to make one ground mesh, which took me hours of remaking the textures to be able to make the grass and some spots of dirt work. I haven't even finished remaking the trails yet and may change out the entire ground because of it.)
- It makes it difficult to make this stuff cohesive with any other map styles. Ideally, I would like to have seen a seamless grass texture included as well as decals for the trails individually, not just on the grass. This way the same trails could have been added with different grass or the grass color/style could be changed, etc.
- The mixture of small modeled details and details that are just images doesn't look very cohesive when you look at them up close (like flowers near mushrooms).
- Because of the way the materials are combined in the textures, you can't use material-influenced lighting properly. For example, since the dirt and grass are one texture on one mesh, if you use material-influenced lighting, everything has to be the same material. Because if you make the dirt (such as the stairs) different than the grass, the transitions will become very obvious and not look right. This also heavily impacted me trying to optimize the images as well. The resolution for the textures is not uniform, so optimization impacted them differently and this made the grass transitions on the edge of the walls not blend at all. Currently, I had to set everything, including the dirt and stone, to grass.
- For being modular and customizable, there is very little in the way of ground options. You can do stone on grass, dirt on grass, but you can't really make combinations that don't involve grass unless you want to remake your own textures to have something like desert/sandstone, rock, or even just a different color of grass.
Overall, it's a good pack and I wish there was more of it. I've had to make a lot of modifications to be able to use it for my needs and mix it with other content.
This is one of those sets where the developer should have included the source files for the textures, especially since there isn't more content to go with it offering a variety in the same style. So things like making autumn or winter leaves/grass/etc. is more difficult than it should be and it's difficult to turn this into more than one map.
BitGem has some other beautifully Hand Painted Texture Packs, but because of the way this map is built and the lack of source files, it's nearly impossible to use their other textures with this map. I found that very regrettable because I would have gladly purchased their other textures if they were made compatible with this map. Interestingly, those textures are tileable, but these ones are not.

When I imported the package I noticed that there are two folders, one called "Fantasy-Land-Set" and one called "Fantasy-Land-Set-Mobile".
Turns out that the mobile version is missing lots of meshes (houses for instance) and another other difference seems to be that the textures are scaled from 4k to 2k. And the material configuration difference is that one is using alpha transparancy while the other is using cutout transparency (alpha test).
While using alpha masking is helping performance, one should know that using alpha testing is also having an impact and shouldn't be used for opaque objects.
So now I have to go through all those objects and reconfigure the materials used depending on whether they have alpha portions or not.
The price is otherwise ok: Mesh quality if good, textures look nicely painted and it's all on one single texture. Would have made more sense to have two atlases though - one for transparent objects and one for opaque ones in my opinion.

Really worth it. Waiting really for M.O.R.E. things like that - maybe a different season pack (snow-covered, or automn-vibe...), or totally different landscape in this style (something mountain-like? NO IDEA but whatever it would be, i would buy it if i have moneys. Hoinestly - thois is a REALLY expensive pack but you get what you pay for ;) great thing.

Awesome assets, but I'm missing the modularity with the terrain.

RenNagasakion version 1.3
Hey,
I recently bought this asset.
I'm 95% happy with it.
Is there a possibility you could update the Terrain Assets to be modular on the Y axis as well?
I'd love to be able to create huge walls with your assets, but since they always start with a ground level I can't add them on top of each other.
Greetings,
Ren

Very good, high quality, modular set of assets. Also includes a mobile version of the prefabs. Artwork is really amazing! Models all snap well to the grid.
Just in case you needed to know...
The mobile version uses a legacy-cutout shader for all the models, which will mess up the plants/trees if you change it to a mobile diffuse. The non-mobile version uses 3 separate materials, which will allow you to change the majority of the models to a mobile diffuse without messing anything up. Models are well made, so the non-mobile version is still pretty good for mobile platforms (will just add a draw call or two).
Highly recommend this package! The art style also works well with many of the fantasy creature/hero art styles available on the store.
Keep up the good work!

This is a great modular asset which is easy to click together.
One aspect which I feel could be improved is a middle section for the cliff walls to allow for different heights of the cliffs. At the moment the cliffs can only be made to a specific height. This would make the asset more modular.
