I do quite like the bitgem assets - but I would like to see this evolve from 'draft' status soon. I am using it for a prototype at the moment, but slowly coming to realise that there just isn't much in this package so I have been downloading other packages with different styled assets - there may be a move away from the bitgem stuff.

Hi Jono,
The package isn't in draft it's actually a bug with the asset store uploader the Unity team have been looking into for us.

I grabbed this on sale and it looks great. I wish I had an excuse to buy more stuff. I been a big fan of Bitgem since 3DOcean.

I bought this pack a week ago. (on Madness Sale ). I try to use the cute skeleton but I am unable to animate it. Is it not rigged or am I missing something?

Hi Gurc,
Just following these steps so you can access the skeleton rigging so you can animate him.
Select the FBX model from 'skeleton_grunt > _source > Models > skeleton_base' , then in the inspector select 'Store in Root' for the 'Animations', then click 'Apply' and you should be all set. Here's a quick screenshot in unity 3.5 using Mixamo with the skeleton http://i.imgur.com/k96lmvT.jpg areas you need to update are highlighted in green.
I assume you're using Unity 3.5? if not please email us as sales@bitgem3d.com and we'll help you out with Unity 4.1.
This is the work of a true artist! He didn't just make a 3D set, he put love in his work and it shows.
If you're a hobbyist game dev like me, this set will make you very happy, becasue it's very complete, and it's almost all you need to get you started with a game regarding 3D art. And if later on you want to expand, he offers other packs that go with this.

The only mobile friendly package

Finally a package that really works on mobile, finally someone using 1 atlas and 1 material to draw all, not like all those packages that claim to be "mobile friendly".
I would give this 10 stars if I could, the quality is simply awesome
