goofy animations
hlauron version 7.2.1
most animations are goofy as hell with extremely exaggerated movements, just look at the idle poses, those are not idle animations, they look like the character is on some kind of drugs. there are some usable ones though.

Hello, thank you for the review. The idle animations are a bit exaggerated so if your camera is very far away like in many RPGs you'll still see movement, but there's also a built in dampening slider to tone down the idle animations as much as you'd like.

This kit is fantastic, but the bow aim animations are broken!
Xelnathon previous version 7.1.0
Love, love, love this kit - helped me prototype melee super fast -- but the bow aiming animations for upper right and lower right point the bow to the left! Not sure why, just be aware and go find something else to use for that.

Thanks for the review and I’m glad you’re loving this kit! I’m not seeing the issues you point out about the bow aiming animations so if you get in contact we can figure out what’s going on there.

Good asset with missing stuff
Kokoweion previous version 7.1.0
I know its not in the list so my fault for not better checking it out. However if you create such a huge bundle I expect to have idle states for all kind. This packages has only idle for 2 Handed weapons and unarmed but not for one handed or two one handed

The Armed idle is meant to work for both 1 handed weapons and dual wielded weapons. Additionally, if using a pistol there are unique idles for right, left, and dual versions of that.

Great variety

traumtraumon previous version 7.0.5
Very good animations, a little bit of almost everything. Didn't use them all yet but those I have seen worked out of the box and looked very good. I didn't use the scripts or anything, just simply drag and drop the animations into the animator.

But is it an animation pack, or a character controller?
trombonauton previous version 7.0.5
I've tried using the animations from this pack in many prototypes and it's never quite been a good fit for me. Unfortunately, this asset seems to be mislabeled as an animation pack when it is in fact a pretty feature-rich character controller. Nothing wrong with that, except I purchased it for the animations based on its title and asset store category which imply "animation pack." Virtually every animation here has root motion, so if you're not using root motion this asset is not ideal. In many animation packages it is easy enough to remove the root motion (if they didn't already provide an alternate file without root motion, as many do), but many of the animations here appear awkward and exaggerated without it. This package includes root motion in locomotion as well as attack animations. They thus require further editing to make them useable in most cases, including more attack anims than I would have expected. Most animations also come with animation events already setup, which is tremendously unhelpful if you are driving such events with scripts rather than animation events (as you will get errors for any events you have not handled through script, requiring you to go through files and scrub out these events). This asset is an excellent root motion character controller, with many helpful scripts to support use cases that intend to use the code from this asset. Unfortunately, if you want to use its animations without accompanying the code, my experience has been 1) trying to make do with some of the attack anims, 2) editing keyframes to compensate for removed root motion, 3) choosing another asset pack that meets all of my project needs. Overall I love the animations and the coherency in their style, but I do not care for the character controller that this package is first and foremost concerned with. It would be tremendously helpful if the pack included the animations without root motion and without animation events.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and feedback, and I appreciate your overall conclusion that you love the animations and the coherency in their style. This asset started out purely as an animation pack put on Unity’s demo 3rd person controller with some very basic GUI triggers for animations as a way for users to interactively preview the animations. Over time users who ended up using that controller in their projects requested a more robust and fully featured character controller, so I integrated the Super Character Controller, and then later the Actions system was added and all of it mapped to a gamepad, optionally using the InputSystem. Of course, it’s completely optional to import any of the controller code at all and just use the animations, which is what most people do. As for Root Motion on the animations, that’s true. For all of the combat animations though, the character moves minimally and always returns to the start position as these animations were originally created for a grid based RPG. I can go through and tone down the amount of movement on the animations or provide alternate versions as you suggest, so thank you for that feedback to improve the pack. For traversal animations Root Motion can be disabled via code so no import settings need be changed and the character will properly play in-place without having to edit any animations. GetComponent<Animator>().applyRootMotion = false; Similarly, you can disable the Animation Events that many other reviews praise for being included without any need to scrub them from the animations. GetComponent<Animator>().fireEvents = false; Again, thank you for the review and feedback that I can use to improve the pack going forward.

Back Pocket Asset
gfmorseon previous version 7.0.4
This is one of those assets you buy and keep in your back pocket if you plan on using a 3rd person controller. Wonderful variety and if there's any complaint is that there are so many animations, that sometimes it can be a bit difficult to find just the right one. I especially like how the animation events are built in, so I don't have to waste time figuring out which frame to apply an event.

It has just about everything

gaiaalphaomegaon previous version 7.0.4
This package is impressive. If you want to make a game that uses magic, a first person shooter, an action RPG, a platformer, these animations have you covered. They are fast paced enough to work for a game that focuses on action and hand-eye coordination. But they can also be used for turn-based gameplay. You get it. - If you want to use the animations on their own, you can easily do this. The animations are .FBX files after all. This is how I'm using them. - One thing I really enjoyed with this asset is that it has two-handed firearm aiming and firing animations which can be used with blend trees. This makes my job much easier.
