Switched back to Nature Renderer after Developer released support for Unity 2021lts in Unity Assetstore.
Great Asset. You can render lots of details very fast with easy setup. Thank you for the release.

Changed my review due to the fact that they listened and now the upgrade has a one time purchase option. Thank you.
This was amazing when it came out. It is understandable to come out with a different version each year to keep funding up and charge an upgrade price with each release of a new LTS Unity version, but to ask for a monthly subscription to this product makes no sense for the end user.
Why not give us the option of a one time fee, or a monthly. I don't expect you to make a product and keep updating it for free, but most other companies on the asset store upgrade for an upgrade fee, not a total purchase as if you never purchased it. Start rewarding your customers that have previous versions.

Thank you for your feedback. We decided on a small monthly subscription to keep the pricing simple, instead of a separate upgrade price for each Unity version. That way you don't have to pay a large upgrade price whenever you change Unity versions, and you don't have to worry about which Unity version you are using. All Unity versions are included in the subscription.
The total price of the subscription in a year is the same as what a paid upgrade to the next Unity version would cost, but you don't have to pay it all at once. If you prefer a paid yearly upgrade for every Unity version over a subscription then please contact us. We'd love to hear your feedback to see if we can provide a better pricing model for you.

It's a great asset, even with the Quest 2.

It's a great asset, even with the Quest 2, but you need to work with a processor like Beautify to get the best out of it. It would be great if a future update included a batch feature for adding the meshes and textures of grasses and bushes. At the moment you have to add each model and texture one at a time. It really delivers on performance. Recommended.

First off, this is asset is much needed on the default unity terrain system. It really makes it so much better looking with shadows on the grass and performance is great even with huge draw distance. Super easy to integrate too.

Not to be used if you intend for interactive terrain
I have this working on my project which has interactive terrain where craters, terrain bridges, hills, flat circle areas can all be created at runtime with no issue. Maybe when setting heightmaps, your resetting the whole heightmap everytime. I know that was my issue for a bit. Instead only update the exact heightmaps coordinate's you changed. It's super quick after that.

I think the tool itself is great and I appreciate the fact its compatible with the vegetation engine. I would prefer to use this tool in every project I work on that uses grass on terrains.
I left an angry review yesterday about update prices but after clarification I've retracted my rant.

Thank you for the feedback. We understand your position and we would like to clarify a few details:
- The 2021 update on the Asset Store has been submitted quite a while ago, but it has been pending review by Unity. We, unfortunately, have no control over how long it takes for Unity to review the update.
- If you recently purchased Nature Renderer then you can upgrade for free. Since you purchased it 6 months ago, the upgrade to 2021 is free for you.
- The 2021 update contains a lot of new features, it is not simply a compatibility update. All our other assets that have received only a compatibility update (such as Nature Shaders) are upgraded for free.

This basically allowed me to go from a depressing empty field to all the foliage coverage I could ask for, this is basically a must-have in any project, very nicely documented and supported as well.

Had a problem with a conflict from another asset causing grass to flash on terrain updates. Talked to the Nature Renderer devs and they helped diagnose the problem and had a workaround built into the next build, even though the problem wasn't technically caused by their code. Awesome devs. The renderer is very efficient as well so it's a keeper in my opinion. Great job!
